Need to build or maybe purchase a step-up viewing platform (with safety rails, etc) for our twin 3 year old granddaughters.  The layout will be 3 levels and I can no loner hold them to view the 2nd level (still a wip).  They love using the Cab2 especially blowing the whistle and bell.  Want them to continue to be enthusiastic so need to have them get a better view with safety in mind.  Also in the future will have an open house and want other children (and very short adults) to enjoy the trains.  Any ideas, plans, photos, etc. you can point my way?

Thanks

When my son was younger and into visiting layouts with me I purchased a portable and folding step stool.   It was easy to carry and as such could be used anywhere on the layout.  I always found that permanent viewing areas limited the viewer to only a certain portion of a layout.  Of course with a step stool you need to hold the child's hand do if you prefer them to be able to stand on their own this wouldn't be a valid option for you.

Anthony,

Consider a Learning Tower, or a Kitchen Helper.

We use these in the kitchen with our 1 and 3 year old. They allow the kids to help us at counter height. The kids can easily climb in and out of the Learning Tower and it's height is adjustable.

Benefit of the Kitchen Helper is that it can be collapsed and easily stored - downside on this one, the height is not adjustable.

Both are very well made and will last a long time - certainly outlast your grandchildrens' childhood.
