Vision Line Big Boy main stack not smoking

I got the new big boy. All smoke units were smoking great. The main stack was only smoking a little. I had added about twenty drops to start but not a lot of smoke out of main stack. I hesitated but added ten more drops,  it‘s smoking good now. It seems  to get smoking better when engine gets running around track a bit too. You can push 9 three times for high smoke. I wouldn’t push it more than three times. I usually hit 9  two times for medium smoke.  Try it and let us know how you made out.

@Ron Casamento is right. This one has the force coupler so it will smoke less under less load (unless you disabled that).

Also, this thing guzzles smoke fluid. I get very little smoke from the stacks but can still get decent whistle smoke if it runs low on fluid.

As @BillYo414 pointed out these use a lot of fluid in the main stacks.  Don't over fill but keep it wet.  I have the 2014 version and you have to keep an eye on the smoke fluid levels.

Another thing to watch for, and I'm not 100% the new models have this, but where you fill the blowdown unit there is an "O" ring on a post on the cover for the switches that seals the unit when in operation.  These go missing rather easy so keep track of it.

@MartyE the O ring on the safety valve port came off on mine. I had smoke coming out the cover haha It was just folded over. I rolled it back on and it's been fine since.

Lionel hasn't had these for the 2014 version so I ordered an assortment off Amazon and found a good fit.  Keep an eye on it.

I was waiting for someone to comment on the O ring . One of mine split in half removing the cover. A link to Amazon would help if you have it, these o rings are small !
