Have any of these been made yet? I would like to know what the height of the engine is from rail head to top of engine. To be more precise, will it go through a Lionel 313 bascule bridge or a 213 vertical lift bridge? The clearance on both is about 43/8 inches. I'm afraid that bulge on the top of a GP30 might make it too tall. I have had no trouble with any other diesel or steam engine on these bridges.

At the Big Train Show earlier this month, WBB had one sitting on display. They're doing four road names (for starters) and the unit on display looked pretty good.

The bell/horn sound OK, but I couldn't hear the diesel rumble all that well (poor quality video or my hearing???).
It might just be the picture, but this good looking dude does look a tad tall to me from where I sit, but knowing WILLIAMS I doubt it is. I'm looking to get one anyway and stay away from low clearances, (I have 3).

Because they made Soo Line F7s and GP9s with too much artistic licence, the Soo diesels did not sell very well, so the top guy will not make a Soo Line GP30.

Anyone heard anything on the WBB GP30? I have the GN version on order, and hoped they would ship before Christmas, perhaps I was too optimistic. They showed their demo back in June. Thanks for any info.
I wonder what the retro fit board is going to cost.

I saw one run at April York. It was not real loud but I could hear it ok.
I saw one at the O scale National Convention in Parsippany. IT appears to look like the MTH Ps1 Premier Gp30 in detailing- which is good for the price. I don't know about the sound.
My understanding (always subject to revision) is that the GP30s are en route now and are expected to arrive at Bachmann in a few days. They will need a couple of days or so to inventory the shipment and then will begin distribution. My guess is there's still a decent possibility that you may have them in time for Santa's long journey.
From what I can gather at the WBB forum, Bachmann website, there are only four GP-30 models that will be made or delivered soon. You may have to wait a little while for your favorite GP-30.
NYC(New York Central), ACL(Atlantic Coast Line), Union Pacific, and Great Northern. These are listed on the Bachmann website under Williams/traditional line/diesel engines, GP-30.
If the GP-30 by Bachmann is too high for your bridge try using 027 straight track or Gargraves straight track as that track has a lower profile than 031 or Fastrac.
Most Williams diesel engines are pretty tall.
