I never had the opportunity to met Dale, but I always enjoyed his posts. My sincere condolences to his family and his many friends.
Jim
So sorry to hear of Dale's passing. I remember seeing his "upside-down" train at York. He was a true genius, the Thomas Edison of the train world.
Shocking and sad news this morning. I met him a few years ago at a Cal-Stewart meet. Very nice man and always willing to take the time to explain and help here on the forum. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. We will miss you,
Bob
This is very sad news indeed. My prayers go out to his friends and family during this difficult time.
I always enjoyed Dale's post and especially his willingness to freely share his knowledge with others. I remember a question I had some years ago. Dale responded with a solution. Being a novice when it comes to building circuits I emailed him to see if he could explain his solution in simpler words that I could understand. He did that and more.
I cannot think of a better model train ambassador.
RIP Dale,
Ed
I keep reading here. I don't have words yet. RIP.
Dale was definitely one of the good guys. Always willing to help others. Our hobby and this world are much less bright by his loss.
Thoughts and prayers go out to his loving family.
RIP. Thank you DALE for helping all of us here on this forum as well as other forums.
WOW, that is indeed very sad news! I knew he had cancer, but I had no idea it was that bad already! Dale was indeed one of the good guys, and we're all a little poorer for his passing! He hadn't answered my last couple of emails on the TMCC amplifier, now I know why. My prayers and condolences to his family, he will be missed by all.
Very sad news. He was a very smart man and a huge loss to everyone. My condolences to his family and loved ones.
This is horrible news. He and his family are in our prayers.
George
My memory is not that good these days but wasn't it Dale who also posted some stories about his model train locomotive racing trials and tribulations.
Ed
A great and knowledgeable guy, will be missed.

Dale & I shared a room at the Billy Budd at 2 york meets. Sorry to hear of his passing.
My prayers and sympathies to his family. His knowledge and contribution to the forum was outstanding. We will miss him.
As long as nobody considers it improper, may we memorialize him further by seeing a photo of him included in this thread?

I am sorry to hear this news. Rest In Peace Dale.
I picked up Dale at a friends house in NJ and took him up to the NJHirailrs club. A great guy. He will be missed

Yes, am looking forward to some more information about him. Rich said he would be posting something later this morning.
Dale was a very nice fella and loved to share his knowledge with us. Sad that he's gone...
Wow, this came out of left field. My heart to his loved ones. I didn't know him personally, or interact with him, but info on his site helped me overcome a really bad introduction to TMCC command control. For that I have always been very thankful as I have been able to enjoy the hobby even more for it.
Just saw this on the Forum. ,Stunned to see the news of his passing. As an earlier poster declared," He was one of the good guys."
Amen

Our Condolences to Dale's Family! He will be missed!
Vast electrical knowledge and an unmatched willingness to share it. A definite loss for the forum family. RIP Dale.
WOW! Is that the understatement of the year... and the year just started!
I too am at a huge loss for words. I also never met him but his contributions to this forum and a blog - especially electronically - were immense! High ball and Gods speed Dale!
RIP Dale. The OGR family has lost a truly good person.
So sorry to hear this. He was a great help everything TMCC to the railroading community and here on line as well.
Here is a picture of Dale from 2001.
And his avatar picture.
Dale was a wonderful source of information on this site and the rail hobby in general. My condolences to all his family and close friends and may Dale Manquen rest in peace, Amen.
I'm sure we will all miss Dale!
(It's funny but I was just thinking of him the other day, wondering what he was doing)
That is the one and only thing I hate about this hobby; It's the loss of friends and great contributors to it. One thing about Dale is he was always willing to help and share his knowledge.
God Bless Dale, you will be missed.
Yes, this is certainly very unexpected news, and Yes, his Manco products were a great help to many of us TMCC Beginners in Years past. I purchased one of his products when we were putting together Leapin Larrys Looney Lines RR, and he came to my home in Tennessee (he drove from California) and helped install his booster. He actually stayed at my home for a few days and we visited many layouts in the 300 mile radius of Clarksville, Tennessee. We drove to Cincinnati to see Bill Bramlages Empire, (Tower City) Gayle Rochings Empire, and in Evansville, Jim Bengerts Empire, and many others. He was a very sincere gentleman and very knowledgeable about Electronics. This is a total surprise to me and our Prayers and Condolences go to his Family. He was and will be remembered by anyone who needed his help. Thank you for this post and hopefully more folks will chime in with more information.
Gentlemen,
Very sad news about Dale's passing, I interacted with him many times, he was a gentlemen 1st class, and I will miss him participating here on the OGR, especially his vast knowledge of electronics, may God hold him in the Palm of his hands, now and forever more.
I will see you on the other side Sir,
PCRR/Dave
I don't know else what to say, beyond what has already been said. He will be missed........
So sorry to hear this. Condolences to his family, he will be missed.
A tip from Dale on this forum about 10 years ago made my layout 100% TMCC reliable. Very sad and unexpected news. RIP good man!
Glad that I purchased his TMCC signal strength gizmo. Will always think of him and his innovative, helpful talents when I use it. Hail and farewell. Condolences to his family and friends.
Thank you, NJC Joe.
Sad news indeed. Dale visited my house many times over the past 10 years when he was in the SF bay area. I worked with him in the early days before I joined Lionel on projects like the MSC (Massive Switch Controller). A true innovator, a Shepard of the hobby, and a friend. Sincerest condolences to his family.
Very sad to hear. A great loss.
