I don't understand what happened, but tender smoked (probably ruined electronics) when placed on track wired for MTH DCS. I have had loco since 2007, but did not run very often. I planned to add Lionel's electronics, but never happened. It is a beautiful 2-8-0 consolidation in like new condition always stored in original packaging. Today, I got it out and placed on test track wired conventionally and no response or lights. Can't make up my mind to display or have it repaired. Any thoughts?

Install a Cruise Commander from ERR in the tender.
