Well, I haven't pre-ordered a locomotive from Weaver, but I have pre-ordered cars. They're a great company. The only concern may be if they get enough pre-orders to complete "the build". All manufacturers from time to time have had to cancel projects due to not enough pre-orders.

You should call Weaver and discuss this project. They may be doing it in house. There are (5) paint schemes listed. Click on the underlined phrase to link Weaver's RS11 detail page.

A friend from work ordered one, and asked me to talk to Joe as far as progress. He told me they are still taking orders, and not yet ready to proceed with production. This was around Christmas time. Anyone can contact customerservice@weaver.com with questions.

The Weaver RS11 is a great idea from Weaver. The only issue that I have is that they are not taking the project far enough. Wish they would put sound in the 2-rail as other manufactures are doing. Also wish they would do the different size fuel tanks and dynamic and non-dynamic brake versions. Then there is the incorrect handrails on a stick! I also wish that they would do other road choices like NKP and N&W. Therefore I will not be ordering any of these. They are too generic and are TOY 3-rail models. Stephen
