Hello,

I am trying to reattach the plastic truck trim on a Weaver Ultra line GP38-2 L&N TMCC RD#4000.  There are two screws but are in a spot that it appears you have to remove the die cast truck and motor assembly to get to the screws.  Anyone familiar with this and is there an easy way.  I see others have converted 3 rail to 2 rail on these.  Additionally the plastic truck pieces are partially broken, so replacements would be nice, but hoping to get one screw on each will hold them well enough.  Outside of that, I have been very happy with the engine for many years.  IMG_6083IMG_6088  Thanks.

Usually you need to remove the center rail pickup roller. I forget if the screw is top down, or bottom up. Take note of any spacers and plastic washers that fall out! You need to get them back in the correct places to prevent an internal short. Then there should be a screw in the bottom of the truck block. Take that out and then motor and truck should separate. That will allow access to your screws. BTW, now is a great time to replace the traction tires! Assembly is the reverse.

lehighline,  thanks again.  Your suggestion worked.  Screw was from the inside top down with wire connector.  All put back together and working fine.  If you look at picture, you will note a critical piece is missing.  I carelessly broke off the horn.  I reglued it back on without problem but pretty stupid of me. Anyway, back in operation, many thanks to you. Regards.
