You just hope they will not move the engine or blow steam your way when you do this on a live engine!
Finally caved and set up a workbench in the living room. I found myself doing all my work on the couch so I could watch TV while I work, and my back was not happy with my posture perched on the edge of the couch!

Sirt:
LOVE your Erie (and the E-L engine). That Erie scheme was a CLASSIC in all respects. Looks great on your layout.
Caboose just turned 30, got shopped for repainting, lettering, and handed down to another generation.
My grandpa built this toybox for my youngest brother (lettered JP Line) in Dec 1982. The letters MAK were added and given to my son shortly after he was born in 1992. It has been at my house for the last 20 years, the last few being used as a storage center for all my detailing and scenery supplies.
Dec 2012, (30 years from its original build date) it was repainted and re-lettered by my Dad. It was just recently returned to it's original owner (my brother) who just had his second daughter a few days before Christmas. Pink of course, for his two daughters, it's on it's 3rd Generation of kids in my family.
JP Line for my brother Jeremy, MAK for my son Mike, and now my two nieces Rylee and Lexie. 1982, 1992, 2011 and 2012.
Maybe 20+ years from now my brother will new to add some initials and give it some sort of heritage paint scheme!
Sawdust....that background looks great. I like the idea of an all-seasons layout, a la Jim Policastro. I plan to do the same someday.

Running my Legacy GP-35 at a friends house and the setting sun coming through the window cast a nice light!
Great photos, I especially like the close ups and use of aperture and lighting. Very professional.

Here is a shot I took with my new clever models warehouse City Wide Moving and Storage in the skyline.
