Last week I posted a photo of the trackwork which I had just finished weathering at "Mifflin" interlocking on my layout.  Someone noticed the Roadrailer train in the background and asked me to post photos of it.  It's actually a model of Amtrak's long gone "Three Rivers" which travelled between New York and Chicago.  The front end of the train contained material handling cars, then Amfleet cars, with Roadrailers bringing up the rear.  We purchased a second couplermate to put on the back of the train, then my son Steven detailed them to match Amtrak practices, including railings and an ETD (non-working) on the rear unit.  The couplermate at both ends of the Roadrailers is reflective of Amtrak practice.  Here ya go...

Always like the pictures of your layout, It look like you may have not used the the genesis engine in while only because i noticed the traction tire coming off in the picture, still look's great. How large is the lay out?  thanks Billy

Here is another photo of my new ES44AC.  This is the 2-rail version running on my 3-rail track with a fixed pilot, full length handrails, and scale wheels.  I also moved in the trucks, filled in the gap, lowered the snow plow, painted the tips of the hoses and lightly weathered it.  This will be one of the main themes of my next video (whenever that is right?).

Visit my website to see the new photo page of this engine with full size photos.  Rich.

the lift bridge is in downtown Cleveland and is a real gem! Reminds me of the Lionel offering

That's actually a road and rail bridge.  The open grid roadway is down.  The single track rail bridge is up (permanently now; no longer in use).  Was NYC from Train Avenue Yard to a wye on the NYC lakefront.

Thanks Lou! Great bit of info.

Here are a few angles on some of my Lackawanna RR items on display this fall. DSC_3821

My Weaver Lackawanna RR 4-8-4 and Keyser Valley Caboose.

DSC_3822

A trio from the transition years.  Steam and two Fairbanks Morse units.  This could never have happened in real life.  The steam was gone by late 1953 and the FMs showed up on Lackawanna property in 1954. The center unit is my newest.  An MTH Dealer Appreciation item.  No 2321, same as Lionel would have numbered her.

And my other FM.  From 2009, this was the Lionel Conventional Classics train master, also 2321, and two of the cars that came with the set.  These will be going in their boxes soon, as I prepare for Christmas.

Billy,

Your observation is correct!  The tires are indeed shot, and I picked up replacements at York.  They are sitting in the workshop awaiting installation.  I wanted to get the photo up quickly and just took the photo without waiting to replace the tires.  I honestly wondered if anyone would notice!

Well, we had to bid a fond farewell to Dustin Lee (Frizzenbee) as he's being reassigned to Washington DC. Here he is with two of his kids -- Coulter and Hudson (note the Dustin's great scratch-built model of the Angels Gate Lighthouse at the Port of Los Angeles in the background). I'll try to compile a collection of some of his projects for a later post.

Good luck in your new assignment, Dustin. We're going to miss you.

Nice try, Peter. We've already told the Air Force we want him back.

Dustin,

Make sure to check out the National Capital Trackers when you get to DC.  They are a very active modular group, as well as being a bunch of great folks.
