I divided the train in half to put it away. I had to get a running start so that the single GP30 could pull the hoppers up the 3% grade.

Redoing my living room layout. Era will be 1905-1925. Small steam will be the motive power. Two Bachmann Spectrum 4-4-0 MA & PA #5,6 with ESU dcc/sound, and two Broadway Limited 2-8-0 paragon 3 dcc/sound RI #2017 and CP #3729.
Maybe my two Broadway Limited 2-8-2 paragon 3 engines might get to run, L&NE #501 and ATSF #3287.
I failed to complete the O Christmas layout, failed to complete the current HO layout because of not enough planning on my part to deal with "it works on paper" why not on the layout. I have some wiring gremlins with some of my switches, certain spots on the present track has dcc issues that the engines just STOP.
This plan is what a really wanted, two passing sidings with a long twice around with elevation. Still need to plan placement for buildings, I do want a small turntable with a roundhouse for the steam engines. Seven of the building's will be craftsmen kits from Rusty Stumps, the other's will be plastic kits. I plan on reusing the Atlas code 83 track I have now, not sure on reusing a roadbed. I need to read up on track laying with dcc only, I think that was my problem with my current layout.
Deconstruction begins next weekend, let's hope I don't screw this one up and give up...

Very nice Jacob!!!
This is my third go at stripping and painting this caboose. Guys kept saying "Don't use Rust-Oleum" when I said I was going to use Rust-Oleum... "Go buy Tamiya". Well, $50 down the drain on Tamiya paints that were the wrong color. Meanwhile, the can of Rust-Oleum Red Primer from my O gauge layout which I had on hand is the exact color match when clear coated.
