Getting some refreshments....
My first attempt at making wood look like metal. This is an old Quality Craft kit. it started like this:
I added several details, including mud flaps, rear door hinges, rear door latch bars, marker lights, landing gear supports. It's just sitting on the flat car. The tie down hardware/jack stands have not been added yet
Being a Weis Markets employee since 1983, I've seen of few of these trailers with this old logo. Really cool to see it in o-scale. You did a fine job John. Love it! About how old is the kit?
A little bit of outside fun....
USA's got some great rolling stock, & the fleet is getting much bigger....
Lionel Legacy NYC Heavy Mikado with some Pacemakers taking a trip around my new outer loop. Nice long run, 2 minutes and 16 second trip once around at 65 speed steps.

Yes that is.
I got to spend time with my good friend Ed today, (I am sure many of you know who he is). I got to play with some of the display layouts currently set up in his collection at his new location.
The first is the original Storytown 8x16 layout, the second is a 8x8 dealer display, and the third is an Original very rare one of a kind Lionel NYC show room layout. This layout was at the end of the showroom next to the big 1949 grand layout. The skiers are actually power by a postwar American Flyer motor. Enjoy!!
Pat......love those videos.......great looking club layout!

A MARS (Mid-Atlantic Railway System) Memorial Day Tribute
"The Last Kiss"
It's 1942 at the Williamsport Station. His train is running behind schedule, and Conductor Jack is anxious to be off. But he holds the train at the platform while Tommy and Melody embrace for a "last kiss". Two years later, Conductor Jack learns that Tommy had lost his life outside a small village in France, and he remembers the tender moment Tommy and Melody had shared on his watch.
As we head into the long Memorial Day weekend I believe it important that we take time to remember, reflect, and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we might enjoy the freedoms we have today.

Thanks for the comments. I have no idea how old that kit is, but I would guess from the typewriter written instructions it is at least 30 years old! I got in on eBay about three weeks ago for all of $9.95!
By the way, I was afraid to use the original decals, as I thought they would fall apart. So I scanned them, touched up any flaws with Photoshop, and then printed my own. I ended using my decals, instead of the originals. If you get the kit, I'd be happy to send you a set.
I fired Lehigh Valley Coal Co. 126 this morning on two trips on the Walkersville Southern. First time fireman and John and Barney Gramling are fine folks to work with, very patient and excellent teachers. They not only own #126 but also Flagg Coal 75 and two other tank engines under restoration.
Here are a few shots of the 3pm trip. We are running tomorrow, Memorial Day, and next weekend and that is it for steam until next year. I'm firing the 1pm trip next Sunday and caboose fireman next Sunday at 3pm.
Northwestern Pacific Budd car at Fort Seward, California. 1964 Added note. If you look at some of the homes on the left you can see they were made out of old passenger cars. I remember that much of the area had no roads. The only way to get in or out was the Budd cars. They lasted a long time but the line finally closed down after many land slides. Don
Army locomotives at the Brightside Yard...home of the Golden Gate Railroad Museum and the SP 2472. The first pic is kinda small because I took a still out of our GoPro film of the yard. Both pics were taken from a window in the SP 2979 lounge car. Matt
