Some train action from last weekend......
Peter
Have a great weekend, everyone!
By all indications, May 2019 has been a good month for Union Pacific steam. I don’t own a really high quality UP steam locomotive to celebrate with, nevertheless, my modest little switcher still commands some attention. If you look closely, I was able to capture a little smoke from the stack as No. 4474 waits for the crew to have lunch near Gazelle, California. Gazelle is on the old Southern Pacific Shasta Route. By the way, I bought a copy of Aaron Pedersen’s wonderful UP No. 4014 photograph to give to my son, a Union Pacific conductor.
1st step in my "Sears set restoration project"....getting the Boat Loader back to "running condition.
Nothing more relaxing than bringing one of these great PostWar cars back to life!

Nice work Peter, you certainly know how to enjoy the hobby.

this is not me, thought it was pretty cool though !
When I was 4 years old, my dad built me a train that I could get in and drive; it was the coolest thing on the block! It was comprised of a trash can for a boiler, PVC sewer pipe for the smoke stack and cylinders, plywood wheels, and it was powered by an automotive windshield wiper motor and a motorcycle battery. It ran on PVC pipe rails, and had a “flat car” to pull my friends along behind me.

New 49 dollar EL car from C. Ro just arrived for my collection. I guess the Lionel resin gimmick load is an interstate overpass side? They don't indicate what it really is.
So, here it is...…….
What do you think it is?
FYI - Lionel no longer adds the metal weight like the older cars had. The newer versions are quite lite.
SIRT, I imagine you've got bigger and better plans for a load for that EL gondola.
Nope. That's it.
My other gons. are beat up. This one will remain as new. Interesting Load too.
I always have to laugh at Charlie Ro when I call. He always asks...."How many do you want"

Steve, can you read the label on the side at the one end? Sure looks like some type of girder for bridge or building roof.
