Nice pics of Mr. Muffin's layout. I remember when Mrs. Muffin was on the hunt for building kits to finish off the San Fransisco inspired houses on the hill. Nice to finally get a chance to see them completed. The station is incredible. I'm sure it took many kits to assemble such a grand station. Steve if you're reading, what kind of kits did you use? The whole layout is truly a work of craftsmanship.

Several new purchases lately....
I purchased this beautiful B&O FA A-A set from C.Sam. I should get it sometime late next week.
Some New/Old Stock from my LHS, a pair of Weaver B&O PS2 Hoppers. Always loved the PS2 hopper in B&O colors.
A CSX SD90 from Williams to replace my MTH Imperial ES44 w/PS3, sold on the forum. I strongly prefer the more basic locos out there today over the high tech stuff.
A Williams Toronto Peter Witt streetcar. I usually don't stray far from local stuff but I can argue Toronto is local. The near by National Capital Trolley Museum has two Toronto PCC cars in their collection that are regular cars in operation on weekends. Both are painted in the maroon and cream colors like the Williams version. I've ridden and photographed both several times. In August 2014, I was given the rare opportunity to actually OPERATE one of the Toronto cars over the Museum's mile long railroad.
MTH Long Island Rail Road "JAWS III" snowplow.
MTH Railking Wagontop B&O Boxcar.
Lionel Chessie I-12 Caboose. I had the blue I-12 but sold it when A) I needed to clean house a bit and B) was in a financial tight spot. Always regretted it. I was able to get this Chessie version here on the forum. Paid more than I really wanted to but I just love this caboose, especially in the Chessie colors. A red I-12 was a regular fixture on display in Gaithersburg, MD until a few years ago when it was replaced with a C&O Bay Window. The old I-12 was sent to the Hagerstown Railroad Museum. Love the window screens on the Chessie version. Lionel did the Chessie version once in 2004. Wish Lionel would do a re-run of the B&O I-12s.
Williams/Bachmann B&O GP9. Unfortunately, this one overheats severely and I'll be sending it back to Mario tomorrow. As usual, Mario was very prompt to respond to my email with his excellent service. At least it LOOKS good!

Fabulous pics, everyone!

A couple of weeks ago my friend Bill Norvell called me asking for help. A switch on the back of his layout failed to throw and caused his Williams SP cab forward to derail along with the train it was pulling. Bill was having knee problems and was not able to crawl under the layout and get to the access hatch. I drove out to Millington and gave him a hand. Here are a few pictures.
Me in the access hatch after I put his trains back on to the track.
Bill at the controls of his three rail empire. Even with the access hatch I still had to use one of those grabbing tools to reach some of the derailed cars.
The cabinets behind Bill are packed with passengers Trains
A rare look under Bill's layout
I finally got around to cleaning up and touch up a US Hobbies 2 rail brass 3 done tank car that a friend picked up for me at the Chicago O Scale show back in April. Black paint is always easy to touch up, and a coat of Dull coat made this 3 dome tank car look great. added Atlas 3 rail truck / couplers. Now I have three US Hobbies brass tank cars on my rosters. I really wish Atlas would make a 2 dome and 3 dome O scale tanks in the Masters line for us.
Thanks for looking at the pictures and a Happy Mother's day weekend to all.
Richard

The Grand Trunk Western SD40 diesel locos arrived. They are such a close match to the real GTW SD40 locos that used to roll on the tracks that it is like having the real SD40s back again.

paul 2 posted:t8afao posted:BobbyD posted:t8afao and BobbyD posted pics of the scale double door high cubes and with you mentioning they look different I had to check the high cube single doors from last year. There is a difference. In the pics the trucks are turned around, but I think they are the same either way. Everything looks basically the same until you look at the air line piping underneath. Last years run has them and this year doesn't. I had bought all eight double doors and two out of two do not have the airlines underneath. Here are pics. The green car is the one from last year. Monday I think I'll email Lionel with the pics asking them about this. I am wondering if this was just something not put on or is it a cost saving action ......Paul
Thanks guys. Hope to hear what the response is from Lionel. Seems odd on a beautiful 86' long highly detailed scale boxcar they still have the thumbtack coupler yet no underbody piping detail now.
