Couldn’t find any info on this S2 for my customer. I was told C&O never had S2’s. Think its a fantasy scheme and number by Lionel?
Maybe someone on here has some info?

According to the C&O Historical Society the C&O had 58 S-2's numbered 5000-5057.
Great photo's everyone!
I credit Roadside America with keeping me in the hobby since I was a wee little Lad! Went by there two weeks ago taking and picking up my grandauther from girl scout camp, was there last about eight years ago, too many lay-outs around too see, but will have to return soon grandauther was there but doesn't remember! Gee how could it be forgotten?
My contribution for the day Have a good weekend all!
MTHs new "Spirit of Roanoke" N&W J 611 showed up at the railyard in Roanoke on Thursday so we took her for a spin and a video. I wanted to hear the station sounds announcements as Mr. Moorman had done them and they are custom to this engine.
I was disappointed though that the model did not have a twin sealed beam headlight like the 611 has now for her excursion service. I only comment because I thought I had heard Andy Edelmen say on the Notch6 podcast it was going to have the twin beam to distinguish it from the other J models produced (but in his defense maybe I am just hearing things). Perhaps I can get JDS to work some wonders for me! Also the builders plate is brass when it should be chrome - just like the "J" plate on the steam cylinders. This was something I had told MTH about many times both via E-mail and at York and was hoping they would've corrected it by now. Oh well - still a good model and one I am adding to my fleet!

The Casey Jones Hi Railers have been working on a small post war layout that we now take to our TCA shows.
Work on our big modular layout has been put on hold for a few weekends. We still have several jumpers in the new dog leg that have not been connected to the terminal blocks under the modules.
Today one of our members, Fritz Crombie, decided to try to run a PS2 engine on DCS out of the old section of the layout into the new dog leg. As I mentioned we have not finished wiring the new dog leg. The only electrical connections are through the track pins.
Fritz fired up his PS2 engine using our old DCS system and ... away she went!
The videos tell it all.
Note- our modular layout is wired on a common ground and a continuous bus connected with jumpers between modules except for the unfinished wiring in the new dog leg.

Here's a (sort of) time lapse sequence on how to complete a layout over a 12 hour period.
Here's the before and after.
Grand Trunk Western SD40-2 diesel loco GTW 5936 in the blue scheme and a GTW extended-vision caboose repainted in Kalamazoo, Michigan on August 6th.
So far as usual a lot of great photos. My finger although I paced myself is numb and my wallet hurts from back to school shopping.
CNJ 3676 took us to Roadside America. Now that's a layout!!!!!! Walt and MartyE take us down memory lane. aubv builds a bridge. t8afao, SIRT, CNJ #1601, theteejmiester, and BAR GP7 #63 once again show their stuff. Farmer_Bill gives us OGR's and Rich's ( OGR Webmaster ) favorite food, now in Ice Cream form. franktrain and Putnam Division takes us to Chicago. ( I grew up a mile in a half from Wrigley Field ). Mike McCutcheon shows off his 1 to 1 scale layout and gives us Legos. Laidoffsick give us the 3 Stooges UP style. Jim Policastro gives us wildlife and trumptrain teases us some more.
To me this weeks stand outs are N&W Class J 1st attempt at weathering came out great. Norm Charbonneau streets just look to real.
So now that Doc ( Putnam Division ) has finished the streets and side walks. I can now get something to eat without falling into the mud and finish back to school shopping at Woolworths ( hopefully they have restocked as from the looks of things, last weeks sales left the store bare) and then catch a ride on Jim R. Hiawatha to escape reality.
Here is my contribution. A U boot caught in the open.
Here is one more from the Free State Junction Railway
It has been a busy weekend. Friday we secured the wood to build the shelving for the front edge of the layout. Got caught up with the Olympics opening ceremony. After having to fix an emergency plumbing leak and yard work, we got one shelving unit made and in place. The second and much larger one is made, just waiting on my son to get home to help me move it into place.
I was in Detroit this week and saw the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. A very impressive museum and recreated American town. Super nice folks running the train.
Engine House Hobbies has a beautiful MTH Premier B&O Passenger train set on the layout. Just stunning.
