Here is a couple more picture's of my HO items and the steam engine posted it due to 9/11 to firefighters and police and people lost the lives.
"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.
Post your non-O scale stuff here!

My entry for this week brings us back to my childhood. In 1966, Mr. Ross Rowland's High Iron Company began operating very popular steam powered excursions over several eastern railroads, some of which were the CNJ, Erie Lackawanna and Western Maryland. Initially using Canadian Pacific G5 4-6-2s 1238, 1278 and 1286, the Nickel Plate 759 was rebuilt in 1968 and immediately began powering trips as well. My family had become regular passengers on HICO excursions running over the CNJ from Elizabeth and my father treated us to a ride behind the 759 to Palmerton, PA. That day, the 759 certainly provided this young railfan with an up close and personal demonstration as to how and why the Nickel Plate Berkshires had earned their sterling reputation with its impressive performance.
Given my personal experience with the locomotive, it was therefore only natural I should purchase Bachmann's recent N scale release of the 759 as it appeared during its service with HICO. Dripping with details and sound equipped, the newly tooled model falls under the category of "I can't believe how far N scale has come." Posted below is an image of the model along with a few snapshots of the 759 on High Iron trips.

I remember that model. Two of the train stores I frequented, the Roundhouse and the Model Railroad Equipment Corporation, both of which were located on West 45th Street in Manhattan, had drool-inducing display cases filled with brass equipment. Unfortunately, I didn't have the funds to buy any of it at the time.
When compared to the Oriental model, today's incarnation of the 4960 sure looks a lot different:

Two of the three Tyco "Pacesetter Sets" from 1961...
Box Lid
Canadian Pacific Pacesetter "North"
This set is lightly used and is truly complete with the five correct cars and yellow fitter boxes.
Box Lid
PRR Pacesetter "Eastern"
This set also lightly used is fairly complete ...it is missing the yellow fitter boxes which someone replaced with the Tyco Red Box Flat w/pipes.

Good pictures this week everybody!
Bob:
NICE looking sets! The pics are duly saved in the "Tyco" sub-folder within my "Vintage HO" folder!
Have you learned about red-box Tyco offerings through personal research, or is there a website somewhere that helps enlighten us mortals?
I am in the process of switching my entire G scale fleet over to KD couplers. I would like to add better detail to my MTH diesel pilots while I'm at it. I made some molds of new pilots but the molds failed. I will probably just make them as I go now.
I need to add coupler cut levers, mu cable, and snow plows to this one. Maybe even some spare knuckle pockets on the rear pilots.

I tried posting a video and it did not work, so I put it on Youtube. The link above should take you to the video.
When I first built this model over 25 years ago, the sleuth smoke unit I installed melted the plastic chimney after many uses. I then decided to install a metal chimney and that had worked well for all these years.

Another lake and waterfall using real water this time instead of my glass lake which is right next to this waterfall and lake. This was originally purchased in the late 1980's and was I believe a Bachmann product. I later modified it by eliminating the hidden open tank and installing direct piping from the lake itself. This was done to stop a lot of water spills that had occurred. I also installed a Faller pump as the original pump burned out years ago.
Jonny i really liked the smoke on the first video!

Thanks! I put the power on 3/4 to get good visible output, but I can set it for just a small output for more realism.
Your welcome!
