The modular group needed a smaller layout to bring to small or "one day" venues. Here's our 6X8 small layout under construction.

Your dog, Peter?
I have been shopping for cabeese to run with my new Legacy AC-12 Cab Forward. I found this at the Orange Empire Railway Museum this morning, but unfortunately it won't fit in the house.... otherwise, it's a perfect candidate!
Great pictures everyone. This is my favorite thread and I look forward to it every week.
Alan Graziano
Did a little "Tinplate Carpet Central" today....

After digging out the old On30 stuff, I thought it would be nice to actually use some of it again. Regular Lionel trucks seemed way too big. I found a pair of Marx O-27 3/16" scale trucks and mounted them on one of the boxcars to see if it would work. I think it looks pretty good. I probably will need to rework the bolsters to set it lower. I'll have to see about getting some more Marx trucks for some of my other narrow gauge stuff! On30-27 anyone? LOL
My weekend is with the National Capital Trackers in Kensington, MD. The Annual Train Show continues tomorrow in the Armory, 11AM-5PM. I can't believe I forgot my camera today, but will be sure to bring it tomorrow. Here's an Iphone photo before the show started, as Amtrak 519 was being checked over prior to the days runs. 519 ran well in the afternoon pulling Amfleet cars.
Your dog, Peter?
Yes, that's Max, a Labradoodle. Our honorary club mascot!

Nice car. You should run this one with a Marx William Crooks steam engine if you have one.

Congratulations in passing the bar, Tyler. You deserve a treat, and a beauty at that.
This beauty came today. I promised myself that if I passed the North Carolina Bar Exam on the first try, I would buy my first legacy locomotive. Did I mention how I love the Southern Railway?
Congratulations on both the Bar exam and acquiring a new Legacy Engine. Always great to see another Southern Ry fan add to their roster and get underway.
Gee, I should buy an engine every time I pass a bar...CONGRATS!
Gilly, thanks for answering the question. I had a feeling that was Peter's dog. Max is a gem.
Lionel89, a big congratulations on passing the Bar Exam. You did deserve a treat and you picked a good one.
Down by the freight yard early in 1981, see the little pufferbellies standing in a row...
From my 3-rail days.
Rusty
Can't have too much Southern.
Ron
Ron, that Southern engine is a real beauty. Very nice photo.
Ron, you are correct. One can never have too much Southern. BTW who made that locomotive? I might have to purchase one when my train budget recuperates.

They (a B-unit also) were made by MTH about 10-years ago.

Hi bluelinec4, I've been trying to find that yard tower kit, but cannot remember who makes it. Could you let me know.
Thanks
Hi Peter
That isn't a kit It was purchased assembled from Harry Heike of Everything O scale It has an operating situation board and interior lighting It is made of Resin I think he calls it the Fourth st tower Its great because of the thin footprint Fits between tracks easy

Great modeling both 2&3 rail, very impressed. There was something a little fishy about those flats on page one.
Go Eagles!! 34-17 comeback of the year so far.
Great job, Peter! It is really looking good so far.
