Early Christmas present from GCT
But where to take it for a test run?.....
Many thanks to John S and the NJ-Hi-Railers for allowing Mason to run his new train on their layout. You made his year!
My Wife's Christmas surprise to me, the view from the apartment!
Merry Christmas everyone.

An old snap but season appropriate. The engine from the set "Santa" brought to me Christmas 1947.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

HAPPY CHANUKAH!
Here's an Ives 10E circling the tree in 2014. My project for this evening will be to get it running again using some parts I picked up at the TCA Fall York meet.
Merry Christmas everyone.

For the past several years our church has had a Christmas "Train Tour". Church members who have layouts or even just a circle of track around the tree open their houses to members of the congregation for an afternoon or evening of running trains. The pictures below are from the Pastor's Flyer layout. The children are welcome to run the trains with help from the adults. This is necessary as the layout does have one "suicide crossing" where the trains have a habit of stalling!

Sunday December 18th, I ventured out to Minersville, PA to witness CNJ #113 take to the mainline pulling Santa Specials from Minersville to Schuylkill Haven and back. The GP30 led the way down to Haven and then 113 had the show the rest of the way up. Here are some pictures and the video from the event:
I hope each and every one of you have a joyful and blessed Christmas with your families!
Sincerely,
LOS, really nice pic...

Wow great photos all love them.
Have a Merry Christmas everyone trust Santa brings along a few more trains etc. Christmas Morning!
We wrapped up a 4th weekend of the Polar Express last week, all but a memory now. After we had thousands of people through enjoying all the activities and my model trains Christmas village. Kids of all ages love to run with all the controls on the fence 8 of the 14 trains and operate the animated accessories like the Minions gateman, Ice Cream stand, fly Harold, Operate Cranky and push the buttons on the fence for the train sounds. I find it amazing this is different from a regular train show you get a lot more of the older girls attending and amazed how many of the girls aged 10-16 spend for ever trying out every button running the trains for long periods having train races with friends and taking the time to search out all the features in villages?? The little kids of course love it and some stay for long periods. Older boys tend to race a few trains with friends then move on but amazed how the older girls just try everything and are so fascinated with the trains and animation and details!!
What took a long time a week and half to put together for the display came down in a day, the houses snow and figures packed away till next year. The trains and Christmas theme freight cars back on the shelves at home.
Enjoy a few more photos of the layout and photos around the park mountains towards Whistler in view here. Great event the Polar Express at our railway museum.
An old favorite:
And because it wouldn't beChristmas without the Santa Fe, here, about 20 years before, BNSF 7776's ancestor, a brand new Dash 8-40BW, seen near the same location:
Merry Christmas,

I purchased a pair of MTH Budd cars about a month ago with the intention of redoing them for the CNJ. Finally got around to prepping them yesterday. Instead of repainting the whole shell , I used Mr Clean magic eraser to remove the lettering with no damage to the paint. Now to order the decals
Picked up another timetable for the train room - NY&LB from 1953
Here ya go
https://steves3roscale.shutterfly.com/pictures/11862Contact RMT Walter. He should have the CNJ DECALS. I did up a bunch of these for him.
Good choice on Mr. Clean. I see you learned well.
Welcome to the Big Apple Nick! Mason seems to be enjoying his holiday. Those fellows down in Patterson are one really nice bunch of guys. They've got a great layout to play with and they really like to share it.
