Its about that time of year & although I have seen (on other threads) mention of sets from prior years showing up at Wegman's stores, I wonder if anyone has seen "new for 2013 product" yet? A search of the Wegman website with the word "train" ("Lionel" didn't work for me) yields Wegman's 2011 & 2012 Lionel sets only.

This year's Wegman's train set looks to be the Lionel Penn Flyer set with neither loco nor cars having WEGMAN's in script anywhere. There are some Wegman's lettered add-on cars as separate sale items along with packages of Fastrak and some Lemax items. Set price here in NY is $199.99.

I mentioned in another thread recently that the Wegmans in Warrington, PA (about 40 minutes north of Philly) has their train display up consisting of a set from 2012 for $199.95 and what looked to be 3 or 4 new "separate sale" cars for 2013 at $49.95 each. Also lots of FasTrack expansion sets.
Price seemed a little steep for the individual cars considering they were traditional, non-scale sized cars with plastic trucks. If anyone is interested, I'll jot down the SKU numbers for the cars the next time I'm in the store. I got the impression the cars were new for this year (based on the fact that I didn't recall seeing those graphics from last year), but it's possible they could be left-over from 2012 and I just didn't see them last year at this store.

Dave, I saw your post on the other thread and that what propted me to start this one specifically dedicated Wegmans. Last year's separate sale cars were the same as the ones in the 2012 Wegman's Lionel set. I got only the boxcar, which was mosty green &, I think, had exceptionally good graphics. I believe the other separate-sale item was a tank car, which was not nearly as impressively decorated, but the same price, as I recall...... & I don't think they were $50 last year. That is quite stiff!
There are at least three new cars for 2013, a 3 dome tank car, boxcar, and TOFC. If you have their app try searching on "Wegmans 2013" which will bring up a short list starting with that description.

Norton, I don't have an app, but searched "Wegmans 2013" on the website & the three new single-sale cars came up. The SKU's are shown, but not the price, but Dave above says they are $50. Based on the pricing & website photos, I can live without them.
A new Wegmans just opened in our area, Montgomeryville, PA, and they have a corner end cap with their set and the 3 individual cars available along with the PA Flyer set and a couple track packs. They also have a G scale train running overhead above one of the deli cases which is pretty nice looking.

Thanks for the pics, Bill! I hit the Malvern, Pa. Wegmans today, finding the same endcap display. It had the three separate-sale cars @ $50 BUCKS each, & the 2012 30203 Wegmans set for $199. I checked & I paid $35 for the 2012 Wegmans boxcar last year. That was a regular price, no sale... so I don't know where they are coming from in asking 25% of the price of a set with engine, transformer & track for one piece of rolling stock. I was amused that they have carded Fasttrack curves in addition to the carded straight sections, which are the the bottom left in your pic. Why would newbies need more curves? They aren't selling a crossing so someone can make a figure 8. Ed H.... as I recall the 30203 was last year's set (with green boxcar, seen in the mostly green box in the above photo) & was different from the 2011 set, which I think had a mostly white boxcar. What appears to be new for 2013 is the Pennsylvania Flyer set seen in the upper left of Bill's photo, with the large LIONEL lettering on it. (As menitoned by Bill McLenin... in the early part of this thread). I did not see that at the Malvern Wegmans.
No problem, Ed.
The Wegman's in Collegeville. Pa. has the G scale overhead also.
I saw the Penn Flyer set running at BJ's in Oaks,Pa.
Rob, thanks for those great separate sale car photos! And, BTW, I think all Wegmans stores have the Gauge overhead in the rear of the store.
Wegmans O Gauge for sale(NOT mine). FYI only, no endorsement.
Just survived Thanksgiving Day with some of the family in New Jersey.
The Wegmans in Bridgewater has their 2013 set, and a few of the separate sale cars.
The set has an engine similar to the most recent Pennsylvania Flyer set and the freight
cars are all special Wegmans themed cars.

That's funny. The Wegmans in Mt Laura, NJ still had these last night. Personally, I only liked the the tank car.
