Hi Marty -

I just ordered the LA car myself but it hasn't arrived yet. I have a few books on both the streetcars of St. Louis and also of the St. Louis Car Company. There is a reproduced ad for SLCC in the book and they mention Johnston is one of the cities where their cars are operating. In fact, the ad features a car very much like the WHC trolley.

The SLCC book is also full chock full of builder's photos. They made these style cars for many different cities and there are lots of differences. There are similar cars that they are describing as a "double truck Birney."

All of the records of the St. Louis Car Company are owned by Washington University in St. Louis.  http://archon.wulib.wustl.edu/...ntrolcard&id=526

They also have a Flickr account with some pics: https://www.flickr.com/photos/...s/72157604060019155/

My guess is they have builders photos/drawings of any cars that were delivered to Johnstown. I live a few minutes from Wash U (my alma mater).

I'll scratch around and see if I have more stuff.

I can't help you with drawings, but this is a Johnstown Traction 350-362 series car built by St. Louis Car Company in 1926.  Most ran until 1959 and several examples are found in museums.  One note this car is narrower than the typical streetcar at 7'0" because of restrictive clearances in Johnstown.  Further info on the Market Street Railway web site.

Yes, that page I posted above with the 2 photos is from that Volkmer book.
