It has been discussed before in another thread, but Legacy RS3's would be appreciated by quite a few people that I know.    I myself would buy a bunch.   Lionel's existing RS3 is a toy IMO.   MTH is PS3 and nice, but for those of us that prefer TMCC or Legacy, our options have been few.  I know, I know, Weaver made them and so did K-Line, but I want a smooth Legacy RS3 in LV, DH, Reading, MEC, BM,

I will start with my perennial wish for a Southern Pacific 4-10-2 three cylinder steamer, and then am waiting to see if then promised cars for the Hudson are now full 80' heavyweight rather than another rerun of the 72' decades old versions

3rd Rail made one.  It’s a beauty, working 3 cylinder gear.  Traded it for a 2 rail version.

Given that most of this stuff will arrive 6 to 10 months after preorders close, I hope they anticipate some patriotic things like the American Freedom train for the US's semi-quincentennial (250th) birthday. If they wait until next year, we'll miss out on running this stuff for Memorial Day, the 4th of July, and other great summer events.

perhaps the american railroad gg1  blue colored diesel in the last catalog may be all we get, but I do agree with you. Gary

YES absolutely.   The K-line was nice looking and much better detailed than the railking offering.  A highly detailed legacy RS-3 is very much needed.  Also, it seems odd that there isn't a legacy GP38/GP40 that has been offered as far as I'm aware.  For folks like me with a small layout, small legacy steam and diesel offerings are where it's at.

Well, The legacy Commodore Vanderbilt will be a hit id think. Blue, Red, Gold, normal silver/grey.

Also they are doing reissue of the PRR Turbines with some interesting color schemes. I dont think those will do to well as the used market for the original legacy versions aren't that good.

More Hudsons and One with the 6 car passenger superset looks super nice. However likely will be 2500 plus id assume.

Besides that theres some logging steamers and and gp38s.

Obviously these are all "Hypothetical" or you can just call and get the catalog from your dealer if your nice to them.

To: T86TA355SR: Thanks for the reply for my hope for a SP 4-10-2 three cylinder steamer.  I am aware of the old 3rd Rail one, but haven't looked for one as I have found it impossible to add TMCC to those all brass locos (I've tried).  And they do not seem to be adding any new steam locos to the line.

So, still hoping for Lionel to do one

I vaguely remember Scott mentioning that 3rd Rail would not be doing any more steam locos due to costs/volumes making that economically prohibitive.  So here's hoping you get what you'd like from Lionel. Emails to the operational leaders might be a good idea, particularly if you have a lot of cousins who would add their voice . Ryan Kunkle has mentioned that consumer requests play some role in their decisions.

It's not a Legacy prediction but wouldn't it be awesome if Lionel decided to do something to denote scale sized in the model numbers.  Seems like adding a S for scale and T for traditional would sure be nice.  Same thing with passenger car lengths. Dash 15, 16, 18, 21 etc.

As far as a prediction the Gold Hudson seems logical. If so I hope it doesn't wind up as a website exclusive piece. I'm not much of a fan of that tactic myself.

They have a system in place to denote different categories, unfortunately they don't distinguish between scale and traditional size passenger cars. First two digits of a Lionel PN are the year, second two digits are the category.
