Thankee!  In other news, after a bit of unpleasantness concerning a top-heavy freshly painted GG-1 shell which resulted in my getting nearly as much paint on myself as on the G, I rassled the thing into submission and got a coat of Krylon blue onto the shell!

A bit of sanding to deal with a few blemishes, another coat of Krylon and the shell will be ready for Giraffe Express stickers, detail parts from the Train Tender and installation on the Williams chassis!

I gotta say I like Krylon better than NuSpar spray for these applications; the Krylon dries a LOT faster and is actually a nice ConRail blue, which is closer to the 3376 giraffe cars...

As you can see, it IS possible to run 14 giraffe cars and a GG-1 around an O-27 loop if done carefully.

In addition, I took delivery of my brand spanking new RMT PRR Tuscan GG-1 today, which is trundling around the layout with the Broadway Limited quite cheerfully!

I lit up a couple of unlit bumpers on my Marx layout:

Unhappy unlit bumper is unhappy.

Radio Shack to the rescue!  (My local RS isn't affected by the bankruptcy, and will solidly go marching along.)

Electrical connexion is effected by putting the wires into the track ends and plugging in some track pins...

Laid the 8th garden track around the turntable, then for the first time in a month, actually played with trains!

Using the Atlas SP&S switcher made up a freight train on Main #2 siding from the 6-track stub freight yard, then brought the SP Cab-Forward out, hooked up and did some break-in running.

The Cab Forward is the first one we've been able to run after GGG did a great job upgrading it to Proto2 from Protosound.  Very clean wiring and functionality.  George is currently working on our problem-child Veranda Turbine and we're looking forward to more great results of his work.

Cabin Lake & Western is finally beginning to look like a layout!

I ALSO HAVE A FRUIT STAND BUT WHERE DID YOU GET THE BUSHELS OF FRUIT???

COOL

Thanks for the good feedback. The Bushels all came with the Fruit stand. I had to paint every color. One of the first items I added to my layout.

I just stood for an hour and watched my trains running.  I recently completed a book that took up all my free time for weeks, including a lot that I would have spent just watching my trains.  It was a pleasure just to watch them run.  Earlier int he day i worked on a bashing project, but watching toy trains run - a real pleasure, particularly with a PBR in hand!

I need to move the layout away from the wall for a while to access the far side for a rock-faced overhang.  Took quick* measurements & meditated on a temporary room design.

*With trains running.

I thought my Galloping Goose was cooked, but remembered this

Hello Art • Well done, I enjoy watching your progress.

You may want to consider starting a You Tube Channel. With the montinization process, your topic and personality. You could become a Top Dog in the model train channels. Maybe you already have a channel and I have not found it. With the proper YT partnerships, you could earn from $300.00 to $1000.00 a year. My 2 cents.

Added two more Lionel engines to my roster. A nice 221 that was on my list and a really nice 646 that was, sort of, on my list. After a little solvent cleaning and a lube job with "Red N Tacky" they both run nice. Was really tempted by several nice 736s but with the Greenberg Show coming up, I hld off. he old engine yard is filling up, might have to cull the herd soon.

Indeed, stick with it. Your layout is looking awesome. The arched stone bridge is impressive.

That is a great video. Very well done. Thank you for sharing it.

You got more done in that 45 minutes than you'll ever know.

Congratulations to Jim and your daughter.  Reminds me of our youngest at about that age.  I was just learning how to use our first computer.  One day my wife couldn't find her.  She called, Holly what are you doing?  I'm polluting, she said.  There she was, had turned the computer on and was coloring in a coloring book program.  She couldn't even pronounce computing, and she was doing it.  Now she is grown and married, but still looks like a little pixie, like your daughter now.

Look at that beautiful smile. She is having a great time. Children are the future of our Hobby.

When my kids were that age, my son would drive the trains and my daughter would fill the gondolas with cows or cow food for a run around town.

She's 15 and will still go to train shows and NMRA Division meets with me.

Keep up the good Dad stuff!
