Fast Freight........there is something different about the way you handle your scenery and weathering.

It's almost like there is no attempt to make something LOOK like it's  weathered or no attemt to make the scenes LOOK real  ............they must be real and not modeled.  🤓

When I commented previously about the rippled water looking so good I had not seen these pictures.            Outstanding work. 👍

You either have art training or you are a natural.

Hi Bob, thanks.

the paint is scale coat 1 MEC Pine Green over light grey Tamiya primer.
It came out a bit darker than expected but I have other Green MEC equipment that look about the same shade. Note that the light I made this quick photo in was relatively low illumination conditions . I use a headset lamp and visor normally for modeling tasks.
I have taken the model out side and it looks about right.
below is a photo taken on my hobby spray booth, lit with LED light tubes.

looks well saturated MEC pine green to me.

    Beautiful work everyone! Great detail and weathering Fast Freight! My weekend project on the layout was weathering this MTH covered hopper. To pair nicely with the Lionel Chessie GP30. I added graffiti, CSXT paint out, and stencil. Along with weathering on the heavier side. I used to love seeing all the dirty, grimy, yellow Chessie equipment coming down here in Florida during the early days of CSX.

Some excellent work being shared here, I really enjoy following this thread.

I added some additional power drops to help out in few problem areas when I run a 3 engine lash-up. 2 engines ran fine but the extra power draw from 3 really highlighted the areas of the layout that had issues.

I also finally got around to opening up and running some of my recent purchases. I was able to find a Lionel legacy NS ES44AC and a NS SD60E NOS from a dealer. I picked up the Lionel BNSF GP30 that I had on order at my LHS (I am liking this more than I thought I would) and put it to work switching out the brewery. I also nabbed some MTH Auto racks and the recently released released MTH ttx Twin Stack set.

My one year old daughter enjoyed the running session. Some photos and videos below:

Wow! All of these pics look great! While there is a part of me that feels unworthy to post my work, there is a bigger part that says to post! Be proud! This is my first build and attempt of doing anything like this! I welcome comments of what I could do better! This is way bigger learning curve than I ever imagined! But I am loving it! MY wife thinks I am obsessed with trains!

Anyway, finished the barn, ran the lighting and even got some ballast down and landscaping. Much left to do. Next I tackle the "Mesa".... I will keep you all updated, but this is a busy work week, so don't expect much until maybe next weekend!

Completed the lettering on the tie load flat car this past week.     Had extra decals so I also decided to re-assign a couple of K-Line box cars.     Already have my eye on additional cars that will be re-assigned in the coming months.    Someday, I will add weathering!

Continuation of my O scale project 44 T

I thought applying the nose decal over the protruding door handle would be my Waterloo! With a surgical scalpel I managed to slice a tiny vertical window in the wet decal directly against the handle! Dab the edges around it and add some setting solution. Now that I have some amateur experience I may be brave enough to do the other end!  Touch up Weathering will be my friend. It’s not perfect but nothing really is in this endeavor!

Enjoyed your layout scenes.  Reminds me of my high school days of traveling Saturday nights to Morehead Blue Flats raceway with the #4.  I always enjoyed the time trials, less car damage ….

please share your technique of making your grasses thick and lush, with the rolling appearance.  

Your street weathering technique is great as well… everything looks fabulous.  The stream is where I want to throw my plug next.

YOU should be proud to share your work. You are doing a fine job. Your scratch-built barn is really nice. Your ballasting looks well too. Keep up the good work and keep in mind, there is no such thing as a bad railroad.

I  feel unworthy also CR.    Loads of such professional looking work in the photos on this forum.

Your barn looks good.  It takes some creative thought to put something like that together.

Only comment  🤔...........how about a mini weather vane on top of the barn. 😉

Dallas, I was thinking about a vane as well! I added it to my "REASONS TO BUY A 3D PRINTER LIST"! As soon as that lists gets to 3 items, I am going to pull the trigger!😀

CR Cole, I understand your thought process but that’s a nicely weathered barn. Open the barn door and add some straw.

   I'll take a few pictures of the next area I work on.  It is very easy.

I added side walks and drive ways to the dealership a crossing to my frontage road and painted and weathered a car I had duplicates of.

That looks very impressive Bob. The middle photo is my favorite with those two warhorses lit up and ready to go. The track area looks good too.

Very nice Bob. I've always liked the blue and yellow better than the red and silver. I hope I can someday add one to my collection. Maybe Menards will produce that color next.

Bob, They run great!  I’m with the others who like blue and gold better than red and silver!  Maybe it is because blue and gold were my high school colors, our two neighboring rival schools’ colors, my wife’s school colors, and our daughters’ school colors!  That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!  LOL

Bob, Nice Santa Fe F3! They fit right in on your layout and the video's really show the impressiveness of those engines!

I started on this park early this morning and did a little more when I got home. I'm waiting on playground equiptment from Artista to go in the grass side. The fence is made by Woodland Scenics I found it a little bit of a pain and fragile. The hoop and 2 on 2 guys are also Woodland Scenics.

Ok guys, as most of you know I have been working on the airplane take off thing. Well with getting the fence work done yesterday and clearance from the CEO I was able to get out and get my limit switches hooked up and a test run! I hooked up the runway lights for my test run. Here is a rough run threw!

Now the rough part is to rerun the lighting wiring and cut the hole in the runway for the post to go threw and hook up to the plane. I don't plan on using the jet, but it's one that I was willing to drill a hole into for the test run!
