Dr Joe: Watched that video! Very nice layout! Lots of cool stuff on it too! Looks like a big layout. What size is it?
Jim
Do you remember the frantic ford owned by chris Gahns? Well if so he owns Nicholas Smith too.
Ive only seen it on facebook and I think its a recreation?
Jim
Johan, nice scene.
I got the drywall screws replaced on the tables in the furnace room area including the scrap iron yard. That leaves me two small areas and I can move on to something else. Had I been smart and did it this way to begin with I would be farther ahead. Oh well live and learn. But it is still great being able to work on the layout. Pics..........Paul

Looks great! Rookie question. What are the places that look like double or triple track? 2nd and 3rd picture up??

Mike, thanks! It is a lot of fun, especially when you get into the fine tuning.
Your layout is developing quite nicely as well!

Elliot, I am glad it is getting better. I know what you mean about getting out of shape. I haven't been able to walk or use the recumbent bicycle for a couple of months, and am finally getting back and it is rough. Kneeling, well I can only kneel on one knee, but it has gotten harder to get up. Hopefully we will both get back into it.
Jim, Thank you for the well wishes.
Mitch, Command control looks impressive! The Alco 420 looks great too!
Dr. Joe, You made made some nice improvements!!
Mike, You are right. There is something to be said about having everything under one roof! Too bad the roof isn't a little bigger, but at 62 I don't want to expand!!
Brian, All Aboard!!!!
Mark, so glad you are recovering. I am 62 as well and unable to touch my toes. Not good.
Thanks for the comment!

Dr Joe, Thank you!! Well the physical therapist is making me touch my toe with my knees straight! Yee-ow! Or I should say I am trying! LOL. The lazy or droopy toe is still an issue.
Like I say, I so far have only had problems with extremities, so I’m doing great! Another fellow from My small rural high school just suddenly passed away the day before his 62nd birthday. Sad face....
Opened my coal hauler set that was ordered a while ago. The smoke stack has debris in the stack paint and a chip out of the stack where another piece of debris flaked off. The black paint underneath shows now. It is on the side nearest me as the engine passes. For $999.00, I am not going to look at this all the time. I called my dealer, but he was out today
I just returned a Lionel 21" 4-car UP Challenger passenger car set yesterday that had an Observation that had debris on the car when it was spray painted. The debris came loose exposing the gray plastic shell underneath. The car now appears to be pitted because the paint fell off with the debris. It was sent back with a CSX Theater car that had truck details broken off the truck, and loose in the box when it arrived. Of all I recently received, only the Pennsylvania Lines and Western Allegheny H-10 engines were good out of the box. I sent my other Pennsylvania H-10 #1288 back because the pilot truck sparked under the engine when going backward, and it started getting Cab blinks for smoke issues.
I want some good experiences in this hobby, like I had when I was a kid. What has happened to quality control?
The 0.040 Plastruct arrived this afternoon and I am cutting seat backs for my Challenger Dining Car tonight. I find detailing the passenger cars and painting the figures relaxing.
Sincerely, John Rowlen
That is certainly a bad string of problems you have had, John. Quite disappointing indeed!
Keep up the good work, Paul--huge improvement visually.
Johan, the farm looks great well kept! But I think the cow on the right might need a little more grub!
Mark, Sure sounds like a great deal! I too would live with steps for a deal like that!
Paul, Looks Great! Your work is just wonderful! Nice & Clean!
Oh No Dr. Joe, I'll be 55 this year and I already have problems touching my toes! I guess I better get to work!~
John, the care looks great! But if painting people and cars I would think with all the ones you have done. With all that relaxing I am surprised that your still awake! LOL You do such wonderful work, Please keep it up and posting!
I worked on the control panel a little bit today. But had to stop to take Tank the inspector to the Vet. Nothing big and wile I was out I stopped and picked up some more wire! Sorry no pictures!
Mike, My father-in-law’s parents had this house built, than when grandma died, he wanted to live there. My mother-in-law never liked the house, so as soon as he died, she started hitting us up to buy it from her. We turned her down, then she sweetened the pot twice so we couldn’t pass it up. I lost my 1 1/2 acres, crick, woods, and ranch, but it was just as well. After we got here on the quarter acre lot, I started having trouble with one knee, the other foot, and now this back-sciatic problem. It was taxing to keep up with the house on the hillside. Probably what provoked the knee and foot problems. LOL
I’m glad Tank is well. How old is he? Yes you need lots of wire!!

Hi Mark, I am sorry you lost the 1 1/2 acres with all the great stuff, but up keep can get the best of us all. We have 1/2 acre and after storms its killing!
Tanks is 3 now and weights 70.6 Lbs at 3 feet long and about 16 inches high! LOL I had enough wire till I built the control panel, but I am liking the way its turning out. I picked up some 1/8 pinstripe and am going to redo the stuff that's on there now to make it look better! When I am done with it I will post more pictures!
I sure hope this shot helps your back! Back problems really suck!
Repaired a chum's Marx Santa Fe F-unit. Loose wire on the pickup, and I cleaned and oiled the motor. E-unit was sticky, but a couple blasts of CRC contact cleaner cleared that up.
Cell phone video. The Lionel tender is for ballast; otherwise, the little indefinite would fly off the track!

Brian- Love the red. - white & blue.
Johan - Expecting our first big snow of the new year, Saturday night through Sunday, 1-2 feet of fluffy stuff.
Having taken down and put up the Christmas loops and trains, I've been doing bodywork for the Great Northern Empire Builder; realized that a couple of the aluminum cars I thought I'd use would not be suitable, so it was off to eBay--few clicks there and on my PayPal account and three new passenger cars are on the way.
Sent paint and parts to Christine (Scott's Auto-Train Christine).
And receiving substantial parts order from North Lima Train Works later today according to UPS email. I'll post photos.
Nice Brian! I got one of those!
Matt, its a funny thing you bring up snow. I have been fallowing the weather records for my neck of the woods and they state that if we don't get snow this month it will be the firs Dec - Jan with no snow from the time they started keeping records. and if we don't get any snow this winter it will be the first time on record of no snow fall from record starting!
Carl, its funny how you can get on the bay sell what you don't need and at the same time buy what you really want! LOL
Thanks Johan. As of right now I don't have any plans to try to weather the track....,....Paul

thanks Matt & Mike, a little "4th of July",
in January to help get warmed up some...
Mitch, nice job on the Marx fix.
Brian, very nice photographs as usual.

Or it could just be my old eyes! LOL
Not a good start to the day! I didn't like how my control panel looked and since I had to pull the switches to solder wire to them I pulled all the large pinstriping off. It looked bad so I sanded the paint wiped it down with lacquer thinner, let that dry and put my firs coat on. As soon as I started to let it dry the paint started to bubble and crack.
It went from this to this! Any ideas hoe I can fix this problem?

Short of replacing the entire panel - which may be the easiest course of action - sand the surface down bare, seal it with several coats of white shellac (Binz) and start over. Good luck with whatever you do, and keep the lacquer thinner can closed; it soesn't play well with every kind of paint.
Thank you sir! I will give it a try tomorrow and let you know how it turns out! I don't want to start over as this is the last of my plexiglass that size!

Mike, While plexi is nice, you may want to consider using a piece of Masonite. For a panel your size it should cost less than $10. Prime, paint, pinstripe, and seal with polyurethane. Sorry i don't have a better pic - mine is over 25 years old.
i wonder if you could have some vinyl graphics cut for the panel? online or local?
