under the tree l ran some of my junkbox rebullds. my gunmetal 225E and tlnplate 2600 cars. now l have my 675 and 16000 PRR cars. before that my 2046 and 2400s.also was runnlny my 671 wlth soe other 2400s.
my Uncle's GF wanted to see the layout downstalrs so l had my Wlllams 746 and Wllams Heavywelghts golng. at the same tlme my 736 Berk wlth a frelght and my 224E and 1600 Prewar cars.the only operlatlng trouble was when some of the snow blanket got caught up ln some passenger car wheels.
Under the tree:
Starter set PRR (Till It goes to Jeff) 2-8-0 pulling Angela Trotter cars, Operating Santa boxcar, and the Naughty or Nice dump car with the matching Christmas boom car on the end.
After opening presents Christmas morning I added a New Rio Grande caboose and Rotary Snowplow (pulled backwards).
That made the little 50W brick pop the breaker so I pulled the Operating car (heaviest) and kept running.
Later I brought up the S-P-S 0-8-0 switcher and moved the rotary snowplow up front.
That poor little thing was wheel slipping on the back curve so I had to pull more cars off.
So now the 0-8-0 and rotary swap out with the rest.
Down in the basement;
Imperial RK Big Boy #4010 is still dragging the Military consist. 6 Flats with Shermans, 1 flatcar with Jeeps & trailers, 2 flatcars with a Jeep & a 6X6, and one gondola with crates for now. Our Boys are coming Home, ya know.
All my New Haven stuff, including the newly aquired WBB Mayflower 60'
aluminum set.....pulled by CC Lionel checkerboard F3s with Rocket Action
Power,...and the highly awesome CC Lionel "FL3s" in McGinnis paint. This
was just under the tree, mind you. On the big track we unleashed the
massive MTH EF3b dual service motor, and the MTH EP5 Jet. For freight,
we had the WBB FA1 A-B-A set in Trustee paint, With an Atlas cabin bringing
up the markers. On track four was the trusty Atlas Alco RS1 with a seven
car work train, including the big hook! There was sooo much NH running,
for a second I thought I was in Westerly, Kingston, or Providence!!!!!
From the other post: In the basement: Track 1; RS11 coal train for all the naughty kids; Track 2 triple head GP9 and 7 with long freight full of presents; Track 3 New Haven EF3b passenger consist bringing all the guests; Track 4; Housatonic GP38 freight with more presents from the Valley area and Track 5; A5 with ore cars to stock the fires.

I had six grandchildren watching the trains. However, the three oldest, 12, 8 and 8 continued to place my little figures on the cars causing several derailments from unsteady hands or figures jumping on the track. Not sure if I should put a happy face or a frown here. I think I will go to their houses and knock over their Lego's. Big Grin

On the upper level layout we ran some tinplate,259 and some four wheel freight cars, and a 1666E with some 2640/40/41 passenger cars. On my son's lower level layout (they are the same foot print, his is twelve inches off the floor and mine is 42 inches above) we ran his Pennsy Flyer set with a barrel car and ice car added in. Ran pretty good to with no issues.
