Doesn't your own computer have "spell check"? My does, although it does get confused with some of the technical rail oriented terms.
It might be the computer I am using at the moment,I will check for sure when i get home.hope thats the case.
Firefox has built-in spell check, I can check my spealing as I type, and it thinks that word is misspelled.
The forum never did. A modern browser like FireFox, Chrome or Safari will have built in spell checker in it. IE was notorious for not having it, but I believe the last two version have had it
Spell check is at the OS level on Macs, meaning if they write the program correctly, any program in OS X can have spell check.
And if he doesn't have a Mac?
For Firefox, I just looked and found the checkbox for this: (version 17, but probably similar for others)
From the Tools Menu, select Options, then click on the Gear icon (advanced) all the way to the right in the resulting window.
Under that area, there are several tabs. One is called "General". In there is the check box for "check spelling as I type", so it does red squigly underlines for mis-spellings just like in MS Office applications.
Note it is not under General when you first open Options, you must select Advanced first and then click on the General tab. (as much as I like Firefox, I'm wondering what they were thinking when making those areas named so similarly)

I mentioned it just in case he was using a Mac and then went to Windows. You'd be surprised at how many people that go from one to the other don't realize things like spell check aren't on everything. I've done it myself for some features.

How about, "What happened to spell check".
I'm not an English Major, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night!

Chris is correct. The forum itself does not have a spell check. The browser you use does (usually). But even the best spell check will generally not correct improper usage, sure as "their" when you mean "there."
Many thanks to the English professors on the forum.
