I did find Bluetrain on Google Play, but, just fyi, this is where I originally landed, AppBrain, when I looked for it, and it says, "This app is currently not active on Google Play...Jan 2, 2017 Unpublished."

Also, the link on Lionel's website to Bluetrain leads to "We're sorry, the requested URL was not found on this server."

Hi!

Because of this thread, I downloaded the app to my Samsung S9+.  However I can not get the App to connect through to my LCS WiFi-2 box.  Can some one give me the correct settings to connect to the WiFi box?  It seems like I have tried every combination in the setting for the app.  As additional information, does the WiFi Box need to be an Access Point or part of my Home Network?  right now it is part of my Home network.  Also I changed the name from Gainspan???? (?) to another name on my router.  Would that have any bearing?  I would not think so but just in case there is some anomality there I thought I would mention it

This is a few months late, but in case there are people who have the app and can not connect or are interested in getting the app...

You can use it with the Legacy Wifi as either an access point or with the Legacy Wifi connected to your home network.

Legacy client address needs to be set with the ip address of the Wifi module a:nd an odd port number.

I do not remember if the app would search for and find the legacy wifi module or if the information had to be known.  If it has to be manually entered, to find your Wifi module's ip address you'll likely need to get into your router configuration.

Mine is set as such:
Legacy client address:
192.168.86.155:50001

The first part before the colon, the ip address, will almost certainly be different in your setup.  The port number I believe will be the same.

I can no longer find BlueTrain in the play store or on app brain.  I have it on several devices and if you have it on one device, there are ways to move/copy to other devices.  Apk Extractor is one method.

Bob had posted at least one version in the forum, rather than in the play store.  It may not be the latest version but may still work depending on your device/version of android. You can find one here.  https://ogrforum.com/topic/blue-train-app

There is also a Bluetrain Yahoo Group where Bob was posting updates:

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/bluetrain/info

You have to join the group before you can access the files.  It appears the latest version there is 4.03

Bob has not posted anything in the OgaugeRR forum since 2016 but has posted in the yahoo group in 2018.

I have the 2 version from this forum on a many years old device and it works great.   I remember on a newer device some of the words were out of place after an android update.  The 4 version fixed those issues.  I suspect that unless you are using something quite old, you will need to get the newer version from the yahoo group.  4 works in Android 8 on my Samsung S7.  I just got a new phone with Android 9 and have not tried it yet.  I can update once I get all my apps moved over.

Update: I also found this direct link to the play store which is working (at least at this moment):
https://play.google.com/store/...m.phonegap.bluetrain
This is for an older version, but may work and is easier than installing from the forum or Yahoo group as you will not have to set your phone to allow apps not from the playstore, sideloading, etc.  If you're real lucky, maybe it will also update to the latest version Bob published in the store. I don't know. I already have newer versions installed.

The 4.03 version is com.krivacic.bluetrain_4 and I can no longer find it in the play store.

Today, I was in the train room and just happen to turn on the power to my control board while my computer was updating windows.  I just for grins activated the Blue Train app and set the correct IP Address and it finally connected.  After some experimenting, it seems that if I am connect from my computer to the WiFi Box, which it normally is, The Blue Train app won't connect with the WiFi Box.  Hope this helps anyone else that may be trying to connect the Smart Phone to the WiFi Box.
