At approximately 4:50pm on Tuesday, June 6th a tornado spawned by a hurricane John hit my layout which in turn caused an earthquake. All people had ample warning of the approaching storm and were evacuated along with all rail equipment. Before they left a large crane was brought in to remove the more fragile structures. News helocopters in the area took pictures of the aftermath and I've provided before images to compare what it use to look like. The devastation is stunning and yet residents have vowed to rebuild.
The downtown area before the storm.
As you can see it did immense damage.
The more rural parts of the area were not sparred either.
