I bought an interesting bunch of prewar (mostly/maybe) parts on Ebay $20.  I figured I can use some and get my $20 back for the rest.  In contrast to the usual case, I'm finding that with old Lionel the sum of the parts is often greater than the whole.  But what are they ?

First a photo of the whole batch.

Now the motors and reverser.  The motor on the left is clearly for a 1666 or 2026.  We discussed that one yesterday.  The reverse unit puzzled me until I compared it with the AF 401 that I'm restoring - same unit.  The real puzzle is the other motor.  It's Lionel and the side rods have a bend where they attach to the front drivers.  What could that be ?

Then there is a stamping that is part of the cylinders with attached crosshead guides, light socket and pilot truck.  What locomotive goes with that ?  Also where did that odd shaped light fixture come from.

Finally I've got two boiler fronts.  They're two small for O, 10 ft wide in HO, but would be about right for a seven foot boiler diameter in S.  Hope someone recognizes them.

The 6 wheel motor is a little later than 1666, more likely a 2025 or 675 from 1952 if no magna-traction or something like a late 2026 2036 or 2037.  1666 was usually nickel rimmed and had slider pickups.  I suppose that second motor might have come out of a 1684 if the front bracket is taken into account.  There are more than a few possibilities.  You could compare the boiler fronts to an American Flyer 342 0-8-0.  Nice parts and worth the money you spent IMO.

The 6 wheel drive motor is Lionel Post War from a 2026 or 2037 type loco as the drive wheels are smaller than those used on 675 or 2025's. The 4 wheel drive loco is also Lionel Post War from one of their higher end basic loco's. The reverse unit is Post War American Flyer. The lead and trail trucks are Lionel Pre War and fit a variety of later locos. The boiler fronts look like beat up American Flyer Post War S Gauge 0-8-0 pieces. Would need better photos of both sides to know for sure.
