What I’d really like to see presented in O Scale: The EMD Demonstrator F7 ABA Set from 1950. Never offer yet!

That would be nice!!
Forward that to MTH and Lionel and see what comes of it. Several paint jobs have not been done. I would be all over that one if someone made it.
If Lionel makes them, I would buy a set. Would like some Demo F3's as well.
Thats a sharp color and paint schedule!
Surprised it hasn't been done already.
Let me know if you want to pass the photo on. If you do not want to do it, I can make sure they both get it if you are OK with that.
I would buy that, too !

I think I could find room in my closet for that!!

Your wish has been answered. And made in the USA as well.
Frank, photo sent. That is a real looker. Both Lionel and MTH have done the F-3 Demo paint jobs in blue and grey. I have never seen this photo before.

I also would purchase a set of those, however I would prefer MTH models, since they would be offered with scale wheels, fixed pilots and mountings for scale couplers.
A 1950 EMD demonstrator would fit right in amongst the big steam locomotive models too.
For what it's worth, the L&N purchased the 1950A and B after the tour. Don't know who purchased the 1950C unit.
Good Day Marty,
Thanks for sending the photos. You know, I think this would be fantastic in S Scale too!
Regards,
Frank
KMK,
I new about that F3. I want a scale version.
I'm in for one especially in legacy but if MTH does it I'm in also.
I am also a military modeler. What we do is if it isn't already made, we modify an exisiting kit. Matching the paint colors will be interesting, but the scheme itself isn't complex and if the details aren't quite right I'm sure the aftermarket has something. The "ELECTRO-MOTIVE" should be able to be made from wet or dry transfer letters (static models have literally 1000s of sheets of decals available). The only real challenge would be the logo. But a picture of it likely readily available and you could roll your own with blank decal paper. I've done that a few times, it takes practice but there are plenty of websites describing how to do that.
Matching the decal colors to the paint might also be challenging but you could also make a decal that has only one color of the logo on it. The decal being clear would show the underlying color.
Done very frequently for static models of all kinds.
I conversed with Mike today and he also likes that paint. Time will tell.
Good Day Marty,
Thanks for helping with the campaign. I am delighted that you had a chat with Mike. I think this F7 ABA EMD Demonstrator set would be a top seller for 2013!
Thinking out loud, hmmmm............You know what would be fantastic? Sound in all three units!
On side note, how are you doing? I wish you the best in life.
Best regards,
Frank
Sound in all three will never happen. The engines, I hope.
