With legacy steam engines having whistle steam, depleting coal loads, etc.

what other reasonable items would you like to see, please no out of this world wish list. Steam or diesel.

I would like to see reversing linkage that in steam engines move just like the prototype when put in reverse.

I second that, and I'll even third it: if Lionel produces I I will buy two.

A Legacy or Vision Dreyfus Hudson would be nice.  A Gresley A3 Pacific (unstreamlined) and A4 (streamlined - why not Mallard?) would be great.  A really good model of Madam Queen.

I would like to see power pickups on all dummy locomotives. It seems to me that Lionel is missing an opportunity to sell TMCC add on electronics such as they have in their catalog and some of the more simple control to turn on/off cab lights, etc. As it is now the cost of adding pickups to the trucks of dummy diesels is prohibitive. Might as well not produce them if you want some life in them and just sell the power ones for a few bucks more than a dummy plus what it takes to add pickups.

PCRR/Dave

Personally, gotta go with this one. Been waiting almost a year now. I'm sure they will be here any day now.

(But, I suppose they could go ahead and make a couple for MartyE while we continue the wait.)

I'm hoping that they can fix the tendency for the sound to cut out.  My Legacy S-3 runs just fine but every once in a while, (usually when I have a guest or two that I'm operating the layout for) the sound completely cuts out.  The only thing you can do is hit the reset button but then the engine immediately stops short, but the sound comes back.  Engine has been back to Lionel at least 3 times.

ANOTHER WB?  ATSF had these in other liveries!

If you are going to do it, do it right with a fixed pilot and scale coupler up front!

Sounds like a great idea, add it to the basket.

Neither will the Big Boy, but Lionel is making that without compromises.

I say, give the classic diesels the same consideration!

That might not clear O-31 or 36 curves.

No need for it to clear 0-31 or 0-36 curves, nor O-54 for that matter. As with most Vision Line products, a O-72 minimum curve would be norm. Let's remember that Vision Line isn't intended to be all things for all people and accommodate minimum curves. There's plenty of models that already fulfill those needs.

I was assuming about $2200 - $2500 for a vision set.

I think your numbers are closer to reality for this concept, Lee. Twice that for your Super Duper Chief.

Vision Line ATSF WB ABBA

Fixed Pilot on A units

Swing Out Scale Coupler

Polished Stainless/Aluminum Bodies with NO opening doors

Each unit should have sound and smoke

1 B unit should be an improved break down unit

1 B unit should have super bass

Each unit should have kinematic close coupling

Speed dependent spinning fans

"Disappearing" Crew so only the lead unit is occupied
