I am replacing one of the white battery’s in an old railing PS2 engine and I have a small amount of battery acid on the connector. What should I use to clean it? I know it was discussed on the forum a couple months ago but I can’t find it. I think someone recommended citric acid but it might have been white vinegar.

You can use white vinegar. Use a brush to agitate it. Rinse it thoroughly.
Either way, it's an alkaline residue, so the vinegar should address it. Truthfully, for those battery connectors, I frequently just replace them if that happens.
Thank you, it’s very minor residue so I’ll clean it up with the white vinegar. I plan on replacing the battery with a BCR from J and W electronics. It’s an old rail king Y6B and doesn’t have a charging port.
I appreciate the suggested white vinegar to clean and remove the battery acid on connectors!
Now,
how would you clean the vinegar from the coil or battery connectors? Water with Q tips possibly?
thanks Much tonight.
you can also use baking soda mixed with water.
Where is the best place to buy these battery connectors?
I use plain water after cleaning up a connector.
You can buy the 9V battery clips in a host of places, just splice them onto the existing wiring harness.
I went to eBay, searched on 9v battery cable, and then sorted in price order and specified US shipments only. I came up with this one as the cheapest. The US shipping is so you get it this year.
If you're in a bigger hurry and have Amazon Prime, you can have one on Saturday for $3.

Thanks John, I see All Electronics sells them to. I’ll probably add them to my next order.
