Quality design and manufacturing. I am disgusted with poor design and cheap quality in products for the last 10 years or so. An example is the lack of a belt tension when belts are used to transfer torque. I have a Lionel Gantry Crane that I had to toss because of slipping belts that couldn't be replaced due to the gear case covers being cemented on. I'm fed up with it from all manufactures!
I'd like to see:

A comprehensive fastrack signal system that is very plug n' play, including ballast bases, similar to what Kato has.

Elevated Fastrack sections, without ballast (or some method of masked ballast, etc) with bridge railings for a more realistic elevated line.

TMCC equipped uncoupling and operating Fastrack sections much like the new TMCC switches.

Full TMCC implementation in all but the cheapest starter set locos.

TMCC iPhone/iPad control app. This would keep the hardware cost down on starter sets. Would also allow layout mapping and route control to encourage layout expansion, addition of switches, accessories, etc.

Anything else that promotes carpet running beyond just the simple starter oval.

Now that we have Union Pacific FEF-3 No. 844, Challenger No. 3985; Milwaukee Road S-3 No. 261; Santa Fe Northern No. 3751; Norfolk and Western Class A No. 1218, Class J No. 611; Southern Pacific GS-4 No. 4449;

Is it time for Cotton Belt No. 819 and Frisco No. 1522 and some of their kindred spirits????

"Features that are competitive with MTH."

I'm wondering if the Lion Chief and Lion Chief Plus are an effort to provide similar features to MTH Railking but at somewhat lower price points,  and with easier access to command features that don't require the equivalent of DCS or Legacy, or even the Cab-1L/Command base.  And a system less expensive and more functional than the infrared Remote Commander in MTH sets.  So on this one point, someone is going to get what they asked for, perhaps.

With the Grand Trunk Western and LEGACY locomotives they are limited to the 1955 built GP9 diesel locos in 1950's, 1960's or 1970's paint schemes, and the ex-DT&I GP35 diesel loco.

I would like to see these two engines with both the steam chest AND the whistle steam effects. Also use the same mechanism in the S3 to keep the engine and tender close. It is a great idea and looks much better.

This has been made before, but not with all the new features. (C&O Greenbrier)

This one is rare in o-gauge, PRR N1 2-10-2.

I just got the old version in Rich. It's 3 rail and needs work. I was going to install MTH's PS inside. If you were interested in a certain control system, let me know! I could give you a good deal.
