Hello guys and gals.......
That would be a blue comet because its my favorite color. I never had a blue comet but have a MTH blue caboose lettered for Santa Fe.

I was always a sucker for the Blue Comet. I think that's why I'm in the apparent minority of people who like Reading & Northern #425 in blue, esp. pulling the all-blue Lehigh Valley Gorge Scenic consist.
Yellow. When very small I had this railroad picture book that showed MK&T cabooses
in yellow. I never saw a yellow caboose until much later. I use yellow on my cabooses and passenger cars now, trimmed in green to represent aspens in fall and Engelmann
spruce. The Union Pacific used yellow. Can't think of other roads that did, but there
probably were some.
probably were some.
The Chicago & North Western used yellow. The Milwaukee Road changed to yellow from orange and maroon.
My favorite is still good old stainless steel. However, GN's green and orange and NP's two tone green would be tied for second.

I have the Lionel legacy Texas Special-the entire set of 7 cars. This is a beautiful train except for the window material which is getting spots. I also like the N.P. North
Coast Limited, S.P. Daylight, and the New Haven McGinnis passenger trains.
As a boy I liked the beautiful America Flyer 'Northern Pacific' passenger set headed by the Alco PAs in two-toned green. Today I still like that scheme as well as the Green and balck Canadian National cars that MTH produced awhile back. Weaver has announced them in their upcoming 'Bradley' cars.
Another favorite is our Lionel Blue Comet from 1991 that gets showcased in the living room.

American Flyer's 1956 A-B-A Northern Pacific diesel set with five streamlined passenger cars.
I'm still a sucker for the UP Anniversary Set.
Classic Lionel.
Yellow but in Rio Grande Scheme

Like you, Railroadtrip445, my favorite color combination for passenger cars and most diesels is the UP armor yellow with gray and red stripe. Love it - have a lot of it. For steamers, I like flat black a lot.
That said, my favorite railroad livery design is ATSF's red-silver Warbonnet, but only on EMD F and E diesels. Can't get enough of either Warbonnet of armor yellow and gray, and I'm glad I don't have to pick between the two.
Who can pick one!!!!! In no order.......
Southern two tone green
Milw Hiawatha colors
UP Armor yellow
N&W Maroon and gold
DRGW yellow silver
NYC two tone gray
SP Daylight scheme
ATSF chrome (chrome a color)
PRR tuscan w/gold
C&O blue and yellow
And I own them all.....so no I can't pick one!
Reading's two tone green!
I will also stand with Wowak on the Reading & Northern's 425 w/ the Lehigh Valley Gorge Scenic. (Beautiful in Blue!)
The Hiawatha's colors are strikingly beautiful.
As much as I love the JC Blue Comet and the LV's John Wilkes, I gotta cast my vote for the Great Northern Empire Builder from the 50's.

SOUTHERN PACIFIC DAYLIGHT!
My favorite, and probably the most colorful passenger train known to mankind, is basically white, has a large red and yellow bird on the side of the engine and comes with passenger cars that have huge red/yellow feathers stretched across them; and is the first to my knowledge to come to O-Gauge.
GN Empire Builder. I win...
Unpainted stainless steel with silver trucks, of course.
Tuscan red, the Powhatan Arrow...
Chicago & Alton "Alton Limited" - red
IC "City of Miami" - yellow with green trim
Unpainted stainless steel with silver trucks, of course.
Agreed! Anything Santa Fe, besides that's the train I took in order to come and go to College, The Texas Chief. Definitely FIRST CLASS!
SOUTHERN PACIFIC DAYLIGHT AND GREAT NORTHERN EMPIRE BUILDER. R
L.P.
NOTHING else even comes close:
Same as SJC C&O and B&O colors too and like the chessie orange and yellow.
Just one? Here's my top seven:
-PRR Tuscan (Fleet of Modernism)
-NYC Two-Tone Gray, any version
-Generic Pullman Green
-CIWL Blue
-LNER Teak
-GWR Chocolate & Cream
-BR Red & Cream
Aaron
Stainless steel with a black steam engine
Tuscan red, the Powhatan Arrow...
Amen brother!
Well the Southern Crescent Limit will always be on the top of my list but the
Maroon and gold from the Norfolk and Western/Norfolk Southern have become another favorite of mine. I will also add the American Freedom Train, Atlantic Coast Line Champions, Amtrak, Southern Pacific Daylight and yes the pre-Amtrak Auto Train!!
My list in descending order.
Baltimore & Ohio blue & gray.
Canadian National green & black.
Milwaukee Road orange & maroon.
Lehigh Valley 1930s Black Diamond.
This is not to say I don't find many others attractive as well.
GM&O multi-red that they inherited from the C&A.

You are missing the best- how about the ACL purple?
I'll join Wowak and Henry J. and vote for R&N #425 in blue
And then I'll vote with Henry J. for Reading two-tone green, introduced in 1948 on 2000-series semistreamlined ("blimp") cars on the KING COAL, the SCHUYLKILL, and the WALL STREET, pulled by G3 Pacifics and then by FP7A's.

I'm with Southwest Hi on this question: Orange and Maroon, of course. Why would you even want to consider any other colors???
Paul Fischer
Green - Southern Crescent Limited
Blue - Blue Comet's
Yellow, Blue & Silver - Chesapeake & Ohio
Black & Red - Lionel NYC Scale Hudson & Rail Chief~
I have always liked the Texas Special and the SP/RI Golden State red and sliver schemes.
I wish I had a photo handy. Joe

My favorite is the B&O Blue, Powder Blue & Gray President Harrison Pacific pulling the Columbian Streamline cars.
