I just ordered this little crossing gate to go with my prewar theme layout... I got it because of the base looking so much like Lionel's prewar telegraph and other base. I know its missing a small metal round light, stamp metal . I've see others made by Ives but they have the round wire formed in a circle completely deferent than this base.. Is is Lionel? or...

anyways if you know thanks ahead of time...

According to the Greenberg book on Early American Toy Trains the crossing gate is late 1920's through the 1930's - so that would make it pre-war.

thumb thanks! I just read that sometime in those years Haffner contracted LIONEL to make some accessories.

I bought it because of the base that looks so much like Lionel prewar bases.. paid 7.95 for it! lol
