It has nothing at all to do with the WiFi. It's a lack of a Legacy signal from the command base.

Did you change anything to do with the command base, such as plugging it into a different AC outlet or changing anything to do with he connection to an outside rail?

No two of my Legacy engines run fine.  The three that are acting up are the three they I set up to run on the Ipad.

I can't even imagine how the iPad or the WiFi module would do this.

Simple test, unplug the WiFi module and see if they still misbehave.  I'll be amazed if they don't act the same as they are now.

I unplug the power that right before it goes into the DB9 connector on the Legacy base.  I agree but I can't figure out why two of the MU work fine.  These two I have not set them up into the wifi yet.  As I mention before AT&T changed out the modem for my uverse.

Does your device recognize your  network?

I wasn't using the Ipad so the wifi wasn't on.  I was just using the remote.

Which channel are you using for Legacy? Try channel 9.

If no joy, reload the offending engines in the Legacy system.

I'd stop looking at the WiFi as any part of the problem, that will narrow it down.  Take one of the problem locomotives and determine what is happening with it.  Divide and conquer.

Are there any other new 2.4GHz devices in operation? For example, did the new modem include the installation of any wireless cameras? 

Good point Rudy, though I'd think that all the locomotives would suffer.  Of course, simply unplugging the AT&T router and the WiFi unit for a test would be a pretty easy step.

Channel 14?  That's not available in the US, so that would be a neat trick.

Thanks for pointing that out, John. It prompted me to look up the frequencies involved. Legacy channel 9 is at 2.480 GHz and WiFi channel 14 is at 2.484 GHz. Ken, you should change one or the other's channel. I hesitate to make a specific recommendation, as I can't know if you have other devices using the general 2.4 GHz band. But try moving one of these and see what happens.

Or as John suggested earlier, just turn off the AT&T modem a moment and see if your trains start behaving normally. If they do, definitely try changing channels on one or the other.

I set the AT&T wifi to channel 11.  I'll try that tomorrow afternoon.

Problem fixed, as you said it was not the wifi.  What through me in that direction is that is the only change that had been done to the train board.  I found that some time ago my elevated fastrack was hooked up reverse polarity.  The strange thing is that it has been like that for over a year.  But all is well know & I was able to hook up the LCS wifi to the main network thanks to the new AT&T equipment.
