Have you pressed report this issue to MTH on the app? Sounds like the app has restricted memory use on the device?

Sounds like there's some reason the app can't do what's requested. I don't use this feature yet. I do have the app crash sometimes. Usually it's been from a device problem. Can you try a different device? I'm just throwing out ideas here. Sorry.

I haven't reported the issue yet. I really can't try a different device since I don't want to pay for the app again.

I have to ask, you know it's free on another device of the same platform, right?

Android=Android, or IOS=IOS

I understand that you don't. I'm just thinking it might be a fast test. I'm not good with all the security protocols on current devices. I do know that they limit what apps can do. I also maybe wrong about what's happening.

I don't. I only have one type of each type. I'm currently using an android device (Samsung Galaxy S7 edge)

Are you trying to record a route and play it back?  I just did this last night for the first time.  But I did not see anything called (L)earn mode.

I'm using an IOS iphone 6SPlus.

ON the bottom menu I press ... (More)

Then Advanced Features

Then Record/Playback

After I select the TIU it displays, then it has icons for Record, Play, Stop and a 4th I have not figured out yet.

I programmed a simple out and back route for my PCC car.  When I played it back it recorded everything perfectly.  All starts, stops, bells, horns and idle sounds that I played during record, all played back during the play mode the 2nd time.

No, not a recording. With the subways, you use learn mode to have it stop where you want on the layout and save it. It's a separate feature (subway/trolley control) in the swiftkey section of the engine control screen.
