I`m guessing of course, but I think if LIONEL were to make a Handheld Control with a Memory and Transmitter capable of controlling--say 15 or 25-- Engines of the LIONCHIEF or LIONCHIEF-PLUS Type with, possibly, a downloadable --such as is done with their 'BLACK MEMORY MODULE' -- Roster, it would improve and compliment sales of those types of Engines.. Is this something LIONCHIEF Users would be interested in.?... This would be a separate Item sold by itself if some people or Clubs accumulate 15 to 25 Engines or so..

I doubt they would and I would not want one. the whole idea of LC and LC+ is keep it simple. One loco-one controller. I have four now and have no problem with the four controllers when I operate all four.
I can envision a Lionel "universal replacement LC+ controller" they eventually sell that has a series of small dip switches that allow you to set it so it can talk to and control any one of the LC+ locos: a single replacement for any that are lost.
Doubt it, as Lee said, the whole point of Lionchief is to keep it simple.
Many of the Lionchief locos were previously TMCC locos in the past, which allowed any number of them to be operated with one remote.
Folks wanted something simpler and less expensive so Lionel created the Lionchief system. Now folks wanna go back to something more complicated
This photo looks a bit like Jon Z right now.
I meant it as a separate sale item if there are people who buy 15 or 20 engines..
As the others have said, Lionchief is their entry level system, simple, easy and inexpensive. TMCC & Legacy are the systems for when you want to upgrade and operate multiple engines from one remote.
I know it is supposed to be for the entry level but it would be nice if the Cab 2 would be able to control Lionchief engines. Does anyone know, are the engines going to be paperweights if something happens to the controller?
Just a simple switch up top to switch between locomotives would do good.

I believe Lionel has stated that they will ensure availability of replacement remotes should customer's existing remotes are lost or damaged.
Yes Lionel should offer a Universal remote. If they came out with one today, I bet they could nearly double sales of their entry level engines within a year.
The cons for apartment and condo dwellers owning O gauge trains are; space, complicated assembly and time. LionChief negates these obstacles by not having an operating system that takes up a lot of space and not being complicated or taking a lot of time to set up.
I don’t believe DCS and Legacy is the answer for everyone who wants to do more with their toy trains. An efficient and affordable LionChief type system with a universal remote is more likely to lure conventional O Gauge operators from the secondary market than any other command control system. If Lionel doesn’t want to offer them I’m sure someone else will in the future.
I run 9 separate loops on an 8 X 5 display, no switches and no operating accessories. 8 X 5 is the limit of space available in this condo. I’ve chosen to fill the space with trains because I like to watch the trains and don’t want to have to get out of bed to mess around with switches and operating accessories. I could add at least three more loops in the space allotted and probably would be more likely to if Lionel offered a universal remote to the LionChief line.
A universal remote is not a novel idea, they’ve been around for decades in other industries. It would seem short sighted of Lionel if they didn’t see the demand for one in the LionChief line. LionChief opens the O Gauge hobby to a new demographic of customers and a universal remote would greatly compliment the product line and likely create add on, impulse sales by first time buyers.
