I got a Williams New Haven 027 Alco for Christmas. The paint and lettering is first rate. It runs well and looks great hauling a string of small Lionel Lines passenger cars. I'm sure Bachmann had lots of requests to offer this engine.
However, there are a few things that Bachmann needs to step it up on with their products. First the rear coupler would not stay closed, I hate to say this but that shows a lack of quality control. Second, the diesel soundboard makes me feel that I'm hard of hearing. You can hardly hear it when the engine is moving. No excuse for this poor design. And yes I turned the screw on the soundboard up to its max. There is no comparison to the level of sound produced by my Lionchief engines.
I own around 15 WBB engines, they run great. Unless they improve their sound system I will pass on them in the future.
