Planning my next layout at my new location after retirement.  After years of Hi Rail modeling I want simple and fun anymore as I get older.  I have some Lionel 022 turnouts and want to do a tubular track layout instead of scale this time.  Williams Bachmann make O scale (not 027) tubular?  Review?  Other manufacturers?  Will the Williams be a seamless fit with my vintage O scale Lionel 022 turnouts?

There is plenty of new and good used Lionel O Tubular out there.  If your LHS doesn't have any, Just look at online hobby shop ads, eBay, the OGR For Sale Forum, York, etc.

I overbought for the layout I'm building so I will also be a seller over the next 1-2 years, probably too long for you to wait...

Also: Any Lionel tubular that you buy will connect seamlessly with your postwar O22s.

How is Menards track?

Have heard a complaint or two about the new Menards O gauge tubular track, claims it is not as strong as the Lionel tubular track. Supposedly it can be bent easier then Lionel O gauge track. I would check into things before I bought track from a new company.

I have seen the WBB adds on their website for their track but I don't know anybody who has WBB track. Personally I would use either; K-Line, Lionel or RMT O gauge track, I think they all mate without any special pins needed.

Most hobby shops have a lot of track, even tubular track, look around and you will be surprised! Don't let rumors by any model train company discourage you from buying tubular track.

Train World in NY has a lot of track for sale on it's website, try them for prices and you might be surprised at the lower prices for quality items.

I have WBB 031 curved tubular track. I bought it because it has extra ties that match my K-Line 042 curves and 36" straights. VERY sturdy (probably because of the extra ties). It gives my layout a sort of 072 look, if you've ever seen photos of Lionel's prewar panorama showroom layout. Fits Lionel 031 switches. I like it.
