I have the Williams 44 tonner and really like it. I can make do with the Tru-Blast sounds okay but is there any way to lower the volume? I have the super structure off and was hoping to see a volume pot or something but it is not visible at this time. I am wondering if there IS a volume adjustment. If so I can start removing boards to get to it. If there isn't one I will just close this fella up and continue along the right if way.

yes, the board on the left is the sound board. the two tall capacitors, the one to the right, the adjustment pot is just above it, next to the little orange thing. all referenced from left to right in your picture above.
should also add, counter clockwise should decrease the volume.
Thank you, thank you! Found it with the Opti-Visor and your description!
The Williams 44Tonner is a splendid candidate to convert to battery powered wireless control using the new SoundTraxx Blunami product. The result is getting all the excellent DCC based motor, lights and sound features in an OGauge engine.

Bob... What size battery would you use. 11.1V LiIon?
Anyone considered adding a BCR/ super cap, to keep the sounds alive on direction changes? Seems like a simple task but I'm not sure where to connect it. I have not determined what voltage feeds the sound board yet either.
Thanks for sharing the location of the volume control too.

I’m delaying taking the shell off for fear of breaking the plastic railings. What I did was glue a clear piece of plastic to cover the speakers holes. Then then drilled 2 holes to let the sound out. 3 was too many.
Not eloquent but it was easy and risk free.
