I found a set of these available locally. Are these aluminum or plastic??

Jeff, those cars are indeed aluminum. Construction right in line with postwar Lionel, .....couplers not the best ever, but with some tweaking, very nice cars for usually little money,....

Just to add their 15" streamliners are metal, their 18" streamliners are plastic. The 15" cars are virtually identical to Lionel's Post War and later 15" cars and can be mixed with them if you want a longer train.

Seller wants $125 for the 5. Looks like they will make a good addition. Thanks Guys!!

Yes, they are aluminum, I have the Williams set in Pennsy & love it. I could never have afforded the same in new or postwar Lionel. Go for it! Sounds like a fair price. (Hope the seller has the boxes and styrofoam inserts.)
I have two sets from the 1970s. The first one I got was among the first Jerry Williams produced...
I was probably about 15 at the time and could not have afforded the postwar equivalents. Yes, they are aluminum and virtually indistinguishable from the Lionel 2500-series equivalents. The trucks are different underneath but presented no operating problems for me. I ran the living daylights out of them. They're great.

Funny thing I contacted him on FB as soon as I got confirmation they were aluminum. Someone had just beat me to them.
I don't doubt they were gone already. $25/car for aluminum passenger cars in excellent condition is way cheap.
