Wiring Ross Double Crossover-A Short

It should also be noted that the non derail wires should be hooked up. failing to do so will  cause shorts and burn out your relays. You will get away with it for a little but the nature of the switch is to let the engine pass through even though the(throws) relays may be thrown the wrong way.

 

If you  didnt have any problem when you first hooked it up, you may want to check  the relays/ wires.

I will assume you have the diamond wired and has power to all 4 rails.
What happens is the power is set for the wrong rails thus you get a short and train stops if this is the correct problem your experiencing then you need to take power wires and switch them on the diamond. Also see if by accident you have a wire from opposite route on one of the rails your using to change from one route to the other.
Or if your using a relay to activate the diamond when changing routes then switch the wires there and all should work correctly.
I have mine wired so one part of diamond is hot when I activate opposite route then relay changes power to let train pass through and the other rails are unpowered until I change route back to a straight route again.

To wrapup this whole thread, I sent the crossover backto Ross and they did a wonderful job of undoing my errors and wiring it correctly. Kudos to Steve and the boys in Connecticut.

I believe I had the alternate/opposite sides of the diamond wired incorrectly (no the actual diamond). I don't  realy care at this point just so it works.

I believe you wanted the Advanced Double Crossover diagram from the Ross site.
