Hello all,

Since I have been getting comments regarding the good people at Z stuff I would like to tone down my comments I will give them a call tomorrow and see if I can get replacements and will respond accordingly. I do feel however that at least the motors I have we're very suspect relative to soldering and I am wondering if they are just from a questionable lot.

Thank you for your comments, Jerry

Dennis Zander of Z-Stuff stands behind his products.

I hated the screw terminals.  Hard to get them to fold the wire.

The cases can be opened and wires resoldered.  I have some 50 on my layout.  Occasionally the gear on the motor shaft kicks loose.  I open them up and use a drop of epoxy to refasten the gear to the shaft (be careful you don't get any on the motor bearing).

Good afternoon Jerry, I had three of the switch machines that failed like yours with the solder joint of the wiring.

I was going to York and I took the three switch machines with me.

I talked to Mr Zander about the issues and immediately he said he would replace them free and of charge.

I pulled the three failed switch machines out of my bag and handed them to him in their original bags.

He walked over to his display and picked up three brand new switch machines.

He took them out of their bags and pulled on the wires to prove the point that these switch machines where soldered properly.

He apologized for the faulty switch machines and with a smile and a handshake problem solved.

With this type of professionalism I spent another couple hundred bucks purchasing Pennsy Seven Light Signal and Trackside Sensors.
