Order now for last deliver of Z4000. AND YES I will order as this is a fantastic Transformer. I have 3 of them now and have had NO PROBLEMS. SO I am not worried about Support. My Car manufacturer doesn't have support for what they sold three years ago and it cost a whole lot more!

Something tells me Mike Wolf has something up his sleeve. I don't think he wants to let MTH go the way of the dodo bird, something that he created out of nothing. Time will tell.

I plan to buy another Z 4000 transformer.
I recently bought 2 more Z 4000 Remote Commanders: one new from Trainz & one used on EBay.

I have to imagine what he had up his sleeve has already been executed.
If he made a decent amount on the building sale, that's a good "plan B" for retirement if he couldn't find a buyer for the company itself.

I don’t understand the point of announcing the discontinuance of a product from a company that just announced their own discontinuance.
Folks,
O Gauge Railroading in the April/May 2020 issue, Run 311 did a Collector's Gallery article starting on page 61, titled, "Hi-Tech Antique Powerhouse", which gives a concise overview of the development of the Z-4000 and what its place is in the hobby today (It was written before Mike's retirement announcement, but is quite relevant now)
The title photo is a shot of the Z-2000, the "almost" transformer that became the Z 4000 with some innovative development and ingenious efforts to modify UL standard 697 that were successful. The transformer contains 2 190 watt units with special software that prevents combining the outputs for the Z-4000.
The Z-4000 has been the "Go To" transformer for many O gauge hobbyists for over 20 years and the OGR article contains fascinating information about its development, history and current status in the hobby that is well worth reading.
Just another reason to subscribe to the digital or print edition of O Gauge Railroading which you can do right here on the Forum.

Thanks for the reminder - I somehow skipped past that article - gotta take another look. BTW, it's run 311.
Thanks. I made the change.
