Has the z4k transformer ever been upgraded over the years?
If so does anyone know what year the last upgrade was made?

Below is a link to a thread I remember back a few months ago.

Only ever had to adjust the zero point on Z-4000's, other than that they've been a great transformer.
Thanx Jim - this link was really helpful - here's what I learned:
1. Stay away from older models as some of us have had problems with them.
2. Overall the newer models have had upgrades of some kind - all for the better.
I would like to find out when the LATEST version came out though.
Thanx again
Do NOT believe everything you hear:
I still have one from 1998 that has had NO problems!

I still run 4 first run Z4K transformers. No problems.
I have had mine since November 1999. Never had a problem with it.

same for me!-jim
Any of you old enough to remember the "Bulletproof Packing Company" ads in Model Railroader magazine back in the 1970's?
MTH used that philosophy in designing the Z-4000.
#12 No problem with 98 version.
I have two first run Z-4000's that still work perfectly, except the fan in one needed replacing 2 years ago.
