ZW Roller Rivets

I just use a pair of side cutters and gently crimp the end of the rivet.

this link might help, it shows how to build a hand held inexpensive rivet and eyelet press, this works especially well on ZW's because you don' have to take the arm off to replace rivet, hope this helps.

I replace the rollers with the arms in place too.

I'm not worried about losing the 6 watts, I'm worried about the heat it produces.

sulafool, what type of conductive grease are you suggesting?

There are a couple that use silver in the mix (what I use), one by MG chemicals and the other escapes me; Allied/Mouser/Digikey and the like have them. Small tubes and real expensive, but a little goes a long way. The other I used to use is more readily available and contains carbon. Big tube, lo cost, *really* messy.

Thanks All for the great insights & ideas!  The small rivet tool looks like a fun project in its' own right...

WRT conductive grease, I've had good luck with No-Ox-Id on other train applications...
