08/08/15 Strasburg 2RL Show

 

Looking forward to it!

 

Got 6 storage tubs of parts, building and shop supplies, wire, tools and stuff almost all priced to sell at an entire $1 per item and as cigar box lots ready to go right now.  Will also be bringing a Dremel Jig saw/sander and other "stuff" - cars, engines, structures, books.

 

 

I'll be bringing these to Strasburg.....

They may sell there considering the average age of us.

Top item - inexpensive oxygen tank

Lower item - saw for cutting out old body parts such as knees, hips, etc for

          replacement.

Replacement ??!?  With [ gasp ] plastic ??  Hey, we're 0 Scalers -- a little JB Weld and it's "good for another trip"....

SZ [ Who found out his gf's knee-replacement doc has a big new house with a big new basement -- and he's in HO !  Sigh.... ]

Bone saw might work better than a jig saw,

Might be, might be,   Got a few boxes of taps and dies that would be useful for that sort of thing coming along as well. And just about all of it will be priced cheap, cheap, cheap!

Rough and Tumble show out on US 30 just a few miles from Strasburg is Aug 14th through that weekend.  Last year I found some nice tooling for my lathes at a very fair price in the flea market.  I hope to get there this year again.

I'm looking forward to the show and I'm starting a list of things to buy.

 

One thing I'm looking for is Weaver PS1 boxcar Youngstown 8' doors like these or close. I need at least 16 of them.

 

Clarification: I am just looking for the doors for these cars, not the cars themselves.

All you need are one or two doors (I may have one stuck away that you can have).  We know a very talented guy who can make many resin copies for a reasonable cost.

The Golden Gate Depot PRR P70 fAR coaches have come in and are shipping now. For those PRR modelers wanting to provide some variety to their earlier run GGD P70 single window monitor roof coaches I will have available at the show separate arch roofs from the P70 fAR cars to retrofit to your monitor roof cars.

Dear List,

    I received word in my morning emails that Tom Harley passed away.He lived railroading, both real and model.

   With the passing of Ben Brown and Frank Kozempel also the past few weeks it reminds me how precious life is and not put off til tomorrow what we can do today.

 As of tonight we have passed the 100 table mark,show is now SOLD OUT.

Rich Yoder has a listing of Dealers on the O scale Yahoo Groups.

 

Also, in speaking to Bob Lavezzi of All About Trains, he informed me he and a silent partner purchased the entire Weaver 2 and 3 rail parts which he will be bringing some of the popular items to Strasburg show. Bob can be reached at 1-908-925-6035 if you may have specific requests to bring to the show.

We will also be having 2 collections for sale at the show which I have been asked for anonymity.

The best source for Overland parts is Bill Davis t/a American O Scale in Wisconsin.

Keith Wiseman had that part.

 

I'm on vacation and will miss it again. I will make the next one and hopefully I will have the money to look for a brass engine or something to put back together.

I'm getting tired of the production stuff. Lol

Does it have to be overland? I believe Des Plains Hobbies has that round speedometer part. I will have to research the OSA #.

Most modelers have that part: a piece of wire and RB cap.

Doors open in just 24 hours.  Lots of early bird specials! 

 

I will have a bunch of left over code 148 turnouts and display cases in the engine room.

And, I'll have an overflowing table of stuff that will be for sale for a while $1....less if you grab a lot of stuff and twist my arm.....

Any HO at the show?

No. It is an O scale 2 rail show with an occasional 3 rail piece showing up for sale.

I need some code 125 turnouts...  Left, right: 4/6 and 8

 

I'm out west, so I cannot make the show.  Please send a seller my way if anyone has some.

Brad Strong from Salt lake city will make any standard or custom code 125 turnouts for you.  Quick, precise and reasonable.

I will second what Tom T posted about Brad Strong's Signature Switch products. Superb work at a very reasonable price from a fellow who is trying to make a living building turnouts. Brad is an O scaler who can use our support.

I am hoping to come to one of these shows this fall.
