Last evening I along with another member put together a 125 car train. I had 4 Williams diesels (2 motors in each) on Point. The shear weight of the train made it difficult to pull the consist by hand to couple up to the engine. Amazing how the engines managed to effortlessly pull this load. The transformers were at 10 Volts downgrade and 13-14 going uphill, Never drew more the 7 AMPS.  We tried to max out at 135 cars but had some break-a-ways so peeled off a few cars and found 125 worked real well. Here is a link to my Youtube channel. Enjoy

In the Early 90's

before Tmcc and DCS the Independent Hirailers along with several other clubs got together in Brunswick NJ to set up a joint huge modular layout. I had a Williams brass scale N & W J, single can motor, pull 125 cars around the entire layout. The layout was powered by several postwar ZW's set up in separate blocks. Took a while to get wire ties on some of the couplers that kept opening due to the strain of the weight of the train. But once fixed the train ran around the layout till my time at the controls was over.
