Jay's, no reason you can't go with O72. Depends on whether a shelf or tables. If a shelf, then you have to figure on how far out from the corners your track arc should go.
Here is an 8x16 for ideas to look at. 2' wide tables around the room.

Well, if you want one track to cross over another I suggest at least 6" of vertical separation. IMO a reasonable grade is 3%, so you would need about 16 feet of "run" to make the climb. If one track goes down while the other goes up, you could do it in eight feet. But there has to be enough room left over for both tracks to return to level at some point.
My room is 18 x 11.5. I like lots of switching, alternate routes, and opportunities to cross over between mains. So far, I won't commit to a 16-foot run with no switches just to go up and come back down again. But the right answer depends on your operating style and personal preferences.
