Is the BLE&T the oldest union in the USA?
Wow!! My grandfather was a devoted member of the BLT. His grave stone is marked with his name, date of birth, date of death, and......B L T. I have his watch fob with a gold BLT decoration. Tom in PGH
My great grandfather was BLE. He worked the B&O from the age of 14 until his retirement in 1950. I have a number of his personal items including a BLE 'ribbon' with gold header and even his Headlight Overall's match case! He only had one job so it's no wonder I love trains!
Proud member of the BLET Division 511 for 21 years 
My Great Granddad became a member in 1925 when he was fired from the Virginian r.r. when the Fireman and Engineer's tried to organize under a union.
He then hired on the Seaboard Railway in Richmond and was buried in Victoria Va. with a BLE headstone.
